    Butts

It can’t be easy though having Wasps in the City. People who aren’t committed to Cov, young boys or girls just getting interested in the sport will see a top flight team playing in Coventry and probably plump for them over a second division team. Look at the difference in facilities too. When I...

    Agents Fees

Very harsh, particularly on Burnley who are a great club with a long top flight tradition including title wins as recent as the 1960s. They have an average gate of 20k in a town with a population of 70k. There is an argument that can be made that they are the best supported club in England based...

    Priorities

I don’t think it has to be which do you love more, club or city. The city of Coventry would survive the Ricoh folding. The whole project from start to finish has been fraught with difficulties. The fact that the stadium inspired by and built for Coventry City is now in the hands of a franchise...

    Woodlands

So did I but it is a good walk. There is nothing really around the stadium itself. Not much infrastructure there at all in fact. Just one country road going past the stadium.

Shrewsbury is on a green field site miles from anywhere. Chesterfield is in More of an urban area but has dual carriageways within 100m of the stadium. It would be great if it were to happen but I don’t think it will be that easy. And that is still supposing that Sisu are genuine.

    EFL Stadium Vote

Those pesky people at the Trust killing our club again. Now they have rigged a Football League poll that will somehow allow Hoffman to buy the club. What a devious, devilishly clever bunch they are! I voted for Option B but did so with a heavy heart. Looking at the results of the poll and...

    Matchday parking

I have parked there for the past two seasons. The path through the park can be really muddy so on most occasions it’s a walk up Longford Road then back through Tesco. Through the park, when not muddy is less than ten minutes. The other way is a fifteen minute walk. Either way is okay.

    Checkatrade Final

We had 43k or 44k at our Checkatrade final. Did either team match that? ( This is a question).

Match Thread Barnsley vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Mar

You watched a different game to me then. Yes, there were spells when they were on top but there were also spells when we were the better team. In terms of shots, they had loads more than us, most from distance and most were off target. We had by far the better chances. Reaction of the fans...

    Jodi Jones & Hyam

I think Thomas has been great this season. I have really enjoyed watching him and having him in our team. It would be great to keep him for next season too but I doubt that that will happen. Yes, he should have scored more goals but he has and still does get in the positions where those chances...

I know you can pay on the gate. Don’t know about the price.

    Rarely mentioned past players.......

Yes, always liked Chris Cattlin. A whole hearted player who looked a bit ungainly but was hard and effective. I thought he was allowed to leave too early, not sure who Gordon Milne had lined up to replace him. I remember there was a campaign by fans to try and get Milne to reverse his decision...

Remember Hateley going well. I think the tribunal fee set was £50k and, as you say, he left Portsmouth a year later for a million.

From that team Oakey, McDonald, Gillespie, Hutchison and Wallace would be in my all time City team. Fergie would be one of the subs. Yorath the best captain I have seen. Also loved Blyth in goal. There were so many great games that season.

I can’t remember if his contract was running down, but Pearce definitely left for a fee. The surprising part of the deal was that his price was lower than that of Ian Butterworth who was no where near as good a player. They both left for Forest at the same time. Oakey was such a whole hearted...

I’d agree with this except I think he was a right back. Best left back Bobby McDonald. Two attacking full backs like those in the team- wonderful!

    Stewards will check all bags

I go to most away games. At nearly every ground bags are searched and people going in are frisked.

    Video Coventry v Oxford U

I didn’t see this with the goal but they were definitely doing it on corners in the first half. The player is standing virtually on Burge’s toes leaning back into him, as the corner is taken he reaches behind and tries to hold onto him. Burge did complain to the ref in the first half but maybe...

    Can We Stop the Binaries?

Not wishing my life away. I am looking at the prospect that my team might never play in my city again.Sisu don’t care about club or fans. If we are out of the city and it is not costing them money I think they will find that acceptable for as long as they have a chance of getting some of their...
