We played Sheaf and Eccles together too, it’s not really fixed. The profile we actually need from a perspective player is long range passing and a ball carrier in midfield. That’s what Grimes offers so imo, would slot in nicely alongside Sheaf.

Allen, all due respect to him, is a useful role player. Nothing more, nothing less. He’s put in a fine string of performances and lately and deserves all the plaudits he’s getting. There’s levels to this and players like Sheaf and Grimes are just 2-3 gears ahead of him.
