The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Now the shit really has hit the fan. https://www.independent.co.uk/climate-change/brexit-raw-sewerage-water-treatment-b1915765.html Feargal Sharkey was on James O’Briens radio show (apparently he’s a campaigner for cleaning river’s up these days. Well he does have a good heart and a good heart...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It does make you wonder whether the NI hike has been done deliberately to make you think that the NHS needs privatising.

I see the Tories are playing the Ferage playbook at PMQ’s. NI raise you say, Ooo look an illegal immigrant.

That probably says more about the widening inequality gap than anything else.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Nurses have basically just fronted their own pay rise with the increase in NI, many of whom have also just lost a lump sum of working tax credits and many of whom rely on food banks. What are they pissing up the wall exactly? Doesn’t need to be nurses either, there’s no shortage of working...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I keep hearing/reading that there’s a pandemic, we have to pay for it somehow. I can’t see how social care reforms and the financial cost of the pandemic are linked. As far as I can tell we borrowed the money to pay for the pandemic costs and the problems in social care were not caused by the...

I wonder if the brexit yacht will get cancelled now. We clearly can’t afford it given we need an over 10% rise in NI to pay for things we do need.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I think the issue is that they (namely Boris) didn’t understand what they campaigned for. It was proper throw enough populist shit and hope it wins you a leadership election campaigning. Boris never believed in brexit, never expected leave to win and didn’t understand how to deliver it or what...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Remember when we cut the overseas aid budget to look after our own. NHS staff? No not them. People dependant on benefits? No not them. Pensioners? No not them. Who exactly of our own are we looking after? Doesn’t seem to be the most valuable or vulnerable people in society. Still that VIP lane...

Most of that is asset wealth rather than cash in the bank though ie they’ve paid their mortgage off. The government also has the luxury of raising minimum wage should they wish. Which incidentally would help raise tax revenue and pay for an increase in pensions.

Boris was also saying he had a plan for mental healthcare during the election campaign which would be implemented as soon as they’re re-elected. So again not an excuse.
