I think the problem that the producers would have, is that a lot of the cast have gone from relative unknowns, to really famous and in demand actors and getting them all in one place for a new series would be very difficult.

King Nidge is one of the all time great tv anti heroes. His transformation from low level gang member and doting family man, to the monster he became is standout writing. From what I`ve read, the new series is going to be a spin off about the Gypsy lad that Nidge was at war with.

I wouldn`t describe it as scary at all, more that it slowly becomes unsettling, up until the final act, where it really does become frightening.
