Match Thread Coventry City vs. Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Nov

There seemed to be a big gap between the forwards and the rest of the team. They do seem to be playing it longer from the back in the past few games. I noticed yesterday that a long ball will often be played after a passage of trying to play out from the back. Inevitably, midfielders and wing...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Nov

Our friend in the crowd was a lot quieter yesterday. Maybe someone did have a word with him after the Fleetwood game or maybe he read the posts about him on here.

I think there have been 11 or 12 different scorers this season. Plus both Westwood and Shipley can and have score several goals from distance.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Nov

It seems that whenever we don't win that there has to be a player to blame. O'Hare now seems to be getting it in the neck. I think his performance yesterday was below par for him but he still was the player most likely to unlock their defence. With regard to the no assist stat you mention, it...

Play against him regularly. Still a good player (walking football!). Still gives me a thrill to tell my boys that today I tackled Dave Bennett. (Most times I haven't as he moves the ball too quickly).

Two good goals disallowed there and two pens not given.

Just in the last few games and off the top of my head; Penalty and disallowed goal today. Disallowed goal at Peterborough. Offside goal scored by Fleetwood plus penalty not given in same game. Penalty (foul on Walsh) not given at MK Two penaltys not given against Tranmere Two pens not given...

I agree with you. See the post above. I genuinely think we would be at the top of the league if every decision we should have had had been given. I just didn’t agree with the poster who said Refs don’t deserve respect and in fact we don’t need a ref anyway.

Wasn’t Stern John one of the players sent off for Forest?

Unfortunately that’s not true. Part of the problem is the actions of certain managers, players and the crowd. Managers like Steve Evans will never show officials respect no matter what they do. Some players will do whatever they can to gain an advantage. They are effectively trying to cheat the...

You have to wonder why these things are happening. Clearly referees don’t turn up with a bias against Coventry. They also don’t turn up to have a bad game. I actually thought the guy today started fairly well, was trying to be unobtrusive and let the play flow. I haven’t seen any of the game...

Best displays against us at HR

One of the best performances by an opponent that I have seen was a game against Bolton in the late seventies. They had Frank Worthington as their centre forward and that day he gave a master class of a performance. I think the final score was 2-2 and we were by far the better team. However...

    Robins to Stoke?

Shows that the grass isn't always greener. I bet that professionally he wishes he had stayed at Luton. Financially, at least in the short term he is probably far better off for goi g to Stoke. I can't see this being a tempter for Robins although to be honest I would have said the same about...

    Best goalkeeper in recent years

Every time I think of that game the incident that springs to mind is Oggy's chase back into goal. I can't remember now how it came about and how Oggy, who is my favourite City keeper but who is certainly no Marosi with the ball at his feet, was so far out of goal. Someone will remind me. I think...

    Gael biggy

Hard to see what has gone so wrong for him, apart from injuries. I know his tracking back wasn’t good but he was a real livewire going forward. He scored some spectacular goals too. The one at Preston mentioned above was great but I think his best was the delicate chip over the keeper at...

I can’t see how this is fair. If the other two had been sacked as well then maybe fair enough. Keogh on the face of it seems the least guilty of the three but has been given the harshest punishment. His age and the severity of his injury seem to have counted against him. Seeing that he is was...
