Fair enough. Then you’ll have to accept political reality that piling up votes in safe seats doesn’t win elections.

    Bidders New Contract

Desperate for a signing, get Pato Banter and a two year deal for our reserve left back. Hardly inspiring stuff. Should have just done this in Feb and most would have been ok probably.

It’s never changing. The absolute best shot was 2011 and that was a disaster. Afraid you’ll have to live in the real world.

I’d argue MvE was that sort of signing. Fells a long way away now though.

The popular vote means nothing. Not understanding this was exactly what Corbyn got wrong. You play the game you’re in not the one you wish you were in. Strategy would be entirely different under a different system.

Appealing to what the majority of the population want in a democracy is underhand now?

Whatever the descriptor. Hating brown people doesn’t mean you can’t also have black people. The actual point was that all political parties move away from their base and towards the median voter. Perhaps wokeness is a better word for what the Tories have to fake.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I mean all elections are to some extent. But people wanted them out in 2017 and 2019 and Labour lost. It’s really not some out there idea that in order to win elections parties have to place themselves closer to the median voter than their base.

Black people aren’t literally black though so I use brown as a generic non white descriptor sometimes.

You have far more faith in the competence of the people running the country than I do!

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

There’s not. Labour will not be elected promising MMT style economics right now. Every time voters are polled their concern is about overspending. Similarly the Tories are nasty and have to pretend to care about brown people and the environment (or did until recently). That doesn’t mean people...

Better than losing both. And four years is a long time in politics. At this point in 2015 Milliband was ahead.

Fewer firstly. And secondly so what? 2019 was a disaster for Labour. The aim of politicians is to get elected. Labour won a landslide. If we had a different electoral system a different strategy would be valid but we don’t so it’s not.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Just aware of what it takes to get elected and what the general public worry about when thinking of voting Labour. You can say she isn’t popular but her approach won a landslide sooo…
