We can't afford to be a Championship club?

It's believed to be £2m - £2.5m however with the way the stadium costs are being funded it is said to be effectively rent free. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33780720

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

And the amount developing clubs are entitled to for younger players has been reduced, don't think anyone would be surprised if it was reduced again in the future as obviously all the PL clubs are short on cash to pay a decent amount for them.

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

I'm not going to pick through every clubs accounts but its pretty clear we're at a big disadvantage. We are being run as self sufficient - hard to argue that shouldn't be the case. We know for a fact that the teams receiving parachute payments, which can be up to nine teams in the Championship...

    Gael Bigirimana leaving newcastle ?

What sort of money would a player like Bigi be on at Newcastle? I guess its hard to turn down a move to a 'big' club as a youngster and we know agents aren't going to be the ones to step in and advise caution. Unless this rules change to stop the bigger clubs sweeping up all the prospects in...

Do The Fans Take The League Cup Seriously?

They should scrap the League Cup or change it to something meaningful. Maybe a shorter cup competition just for L1 and non Europe PL teams. Leave L1 and L2 with the JPT and the FA Cup as the one for everyone.

    Eva Carneiro

Sure that's true but I think a lot of people take issue as a) they were called onto the pitch by the ref and b) she followed the male physio who hasn't received any punishment.

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

Just did a quick google of Charlton, Sheff Wed and Forest, who were mid table last season, and it looks like they've all had owners put in investments in the tens of millions. Also saw reference to a football finance expert saying at least a £25m budget was needed to compete at that level.

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

We know from our previous time in the Championship that despite having decent crowds we were down in the bottom clubs in terms of revenue. So we'd be starting at a disadvantage. Of course not impossible as spend doesn't directly equate to success but I think it would be foolish to think there's...

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

Found an article from Feb that says their owner has put in nearly £40m

    Dominic Samuel

Sounds like it could be a ligament issue, didn't he have a similar injury previously? Terrible timing for him if it is a season ender. Will put him right out of the picture at Reading and cool off interest from others.

    Gael Bigirimana leaving newcastle ?

Newcastle have said Bigi can leave now and they are actively looking for a move. How long before we're linked with him?

    Pennington availability increasing?

Pennington was great at CB but I wouldn't want him at RB so this is exactly the problem. Would Everton want him to come here when he isn't going to get games. Think we would be a reserve option if they couldn't find something better for him.

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

And there's the problem, every team is trying to do the same thing and not every team will succeed. Therefore a lot of clubs end up with nothing but a load of debt. Bournemouth pay less than £400K a year and get all revenues from the stadium. They have also said if the owner refuses to sell...

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

It's not just transfers its wages. Without even counting last season the Russian had put in £25m via 2 loans on which he is charging interest at 3%. He's done that to cover substantial losses and fund increased transfer expenditure. What was there record transfer prior to him taking and stake...

    Attendance Vs. Wigan

That's kind of the point! The club has to provide those spaces free of charge under league regulations therefore we have to pay ACL, or whoever they have sold the parking to, for those spaces. We would also need to pay them for any other spaces we wanted to purchase to sell on to regular...

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

The whole system needs a big shake up. I'd get rid of agents and have it all done by the PFA, fixed squad sizes, salary floor and cap, no fees for loans, greater revenue sharing. Something has to give at some point. The tipping point will be when Sky start losing subscribers as they've pushed...

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

Not sure what you're point is there unless you're agreeing that money is being put in as that shows a deficit of over £22m on transfers since the Russian turned up! Exactly and then having sold everything the inevitable relegation follows unless someone else comes along who will pump millions...

    Attendance Vs. Wigan

All clubs have parking as FL regulations require parking be provided for directors, players, officials, press etc. Of course that doesn't mean every club has them but many do. Even HR had a car park opposite the ticket office. Our issue is we have to pay ACL to use the car park so again rather...

We can't afford to be a Championship club?

That's definitely someone putting money in! Share issues aren't really a problem, the loans would be of more concern. What happens if and when he gets bored and decides he wants his money back?
