    Kevin Phillips released by Birmingham

If Kevin Phillips was asking for a realistic amount I'd snap him up, even at 37. I'd be surprised if he didn't play more than Carsley, and any young strikers training alongside him couldn't help but learn.

    Kevin Phillips released by Birmingham

He's one of those forwards who just has that striker's instinct isn't he? Hernandez at Man Utd is another.

    Kevin Phillips released by Birmingham

They were happy to use him in the Premier League and the cup for cameo roles, I can't see his quality being an issue. He initially went to Birmingham because they were one of the few offering him more than a one-year deal, maybe it's a similar thing now?

    Anyone got their kit yet?

I'd guess they would, as Saturday's still a 'regular' day for post and deliveries as far as I know.

"I could have been a contender" players!

McNamee's a good shout, he's one of those likeable players who's had horrible luck. A much lower-profile version of Owen Hargreaves in that sense.

    Anyone got their kit yet?

All the stories on the official site were saying that they'd be sent out starting the 26th and a few here have pre-ordered, so has anyone received delivery? Probably a bit early, depending on how they're sending them out.

    Players not signing.

Surely all we know is that they've yet to renew their contracts, unless you're privy to some signs of them having this attitude.

    Players not signing.

The agent will be all about the cash sure, but then it's down to the player as to how much influence the agent has. I certainly don't agree with the idea that the contracts should be ripped up.

    Players not signing.

Players shouldn't be blamed for having agents, particularly teenagers who are hardly going to be well-versed in negotiation. If they reject the deals, get big-headed and fail then fine, let's attack them for being spoilt. If they take their time to make a decision on the next however many years...

    Players not signing.

So we don't know the actual reasons why they've yet to sign, but let's just assume the very worst.

    Fitness and workouts

I'm almost certain eating before is better, but people argue either way. Fuel your workout I reckon.

    Marlon King

I wouldn't like him, but I'd still stick to the view that anyone released from prison by law should be allowed to resume their football career.

This attitude makes no sense to me at all. He's given his all when he plays which is all that can be asked of him. If you want people who blindly commit to the club regardless of personal situation, you're basically talking lifelong Cov fans, like Gary McSheffrey who's been elsewhere in his career.

As your definition qualifies it though, wanting a better life or more money isn't by default greedy, it has to be excessive.

    Fans vote in the Boardroom

I wouldn't personally, but I like the idea. Plus anyone doing it wouldn't be giving their money to SISU, they'd be giving it to Coventry City.

    R.I.P ''Macho Man'' Randy Savage

Something definitely, but if you were a multi-millionaire and one of your employees did the dirty with your underage daughter, you'd do more than professionally snub him I'm sure. That's why I don't see that rumour as having much legitimacy.

    R.I.P ''Macho Man'' Randy Savage

I assume it's the most popular and scandalous rumour involving a young girl, but that seems too outlandish to make sense.

Greed is Ashley Cole almost swerving off the road in disgust because he was only offered 70k a week rather than 75 or whatever it was. A player who signed a contract with a club, fulfilled that contract and is now in a position to accept more lucrative contracts if offered? That's not greed...
