    Immigration and Asylum

In fairness, why should the French effectively police Britain's borders? It isn't in France's national interest to keep these people in their country. It's why this 'one in, one out' deal is doomed to fail because there's nothing stopping people reentering the UK. This is fundamentally why the...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Agree that there's a lot of violence and ugly stuff in most religious texts. However, the big thing that separates 'The West' is that the Enlightenment happened and flourished and this is arguably the most consequential and important movement in world history. It's where Western Europe and the...

No, but going to Leicester games in hospitality - if rumours are to be believed - is and should be a bannable offence.

Signed. Nothing personal, it was just funny and the petition is a joke.

Away tickets - Ipswich policy to avoid a closed shop on getting a ticket

Presumably, you're not a STH then? No judgement there because having live nearly 2 hours away for a season and a half, I can empathise with the long travelling, particularly for more senior fans. Equally, you can't expect people to take this proposal seriously when there are people who do the...

Away tickets - Ipswich policy to avoid a closed shop on getting a ticket

What’s your attendance been like over the last 3-5 years though?

Most seasons there is a team that 'come from nowhere' to clinch playoffs. You had Forest in 21/22, us and Boro in 22/23, us and Bristol last season. In fairness, Bristol were in the top half but it was v strong home form that got them over the line - particularly against playoff teams. With...

Away tickets - Ipswich policy to avoid a closed shop on getting a ticket

It’s not impossible. Last season, most of the games went to general sale let alone to the 100-500 games (I.e. newer STHs). Did you have any trouble getting tickets to Wigan, Burnley, PNE and Blackburn? Over the last 3 years, just those games alone are close to 150 points alone.

Away tickets - Ipswich policy to avoid a closed shop on getting a ticket

Well intentioned, but a ballot system probably does the opposite and entrench the ‘top cappers’. I’ll use the ETSC as an example: The split is 70:30 so the top 70% of cappers are guaranteed a ticket. The 30% of ballots are scaled for fairness. Using Stoke as an example, if you put 30% of a...

Away tickets - Ipswich policy to avoid a closed shop on getting a ticket

Funny how no one calls for a ballot for the shit midweek journeys and we’ve been unlucky with the draw this years Millwall, Portsmouth, Wrexham*, Boro and PNE on midweek are really unideal destinations. *Friday night, but the transport links are so bad you have to drive, get the coach or stop...

Away tickets - Ipswich policy to avoid a closed shop on getting a ticket

It’s a solution to a non-existent problem. It’s a ‘closed shop’ for a handful of games where away allocations are sub-2k. I’ve barely missed an away game since Feb 2024 and built my points to 1500+. There’s only been about 7-8 games I weren’t able to get tickets for over that period. Off the...

    We’ve not played anyone claim

None of those teams are “easy”. As poor as Blues were against us, their underlying data has them as one of the best teams in the division. Millwall are 3rd and QPR 8th, joint 5th but their goal difference holds them back. They’ve conceded 16 goals in 11 games, take our 7-1 battering out, their...

We're just v good. Millwall form reads; WDLWWW - that one loss was against us. QPR were unbeaten for several games after we battered them.

Last season, we had 9 points after 11 games... We finished 5th. I think it'll be a low threshold for playoffs again this season. Barring ourselves, there is no stand out team and teams are dropping points all over. The promoted teams are usually the easy 4-6 points for most teams but this...

    Championship thread 25/26!

I look at Sheff U as the fixture we're most likely to lose between now and the international break imo. I think this is a dangerous underestimation of them. They are the best team we've played this season and the best squad we've faced so don't think it's particularly wild to say they'll...

They're a tin pot club with delusions of grandeur. Hence, they've been taken in by owners promising big things. They're struggling to deliver in the Championship despite outspending most of the EFL over the last 2 seasons. You can financially bully L1 and L2, but the Championship is a tougher...

We're overperforming by 1 point now, which has swung by underperforming by a 2-3 points iirc. This is in the space of 2-3 games. The old adage is the past performance is not an indication of future success. We underperformed massively last season and should've been Top 3 on these metrics alone...

Exactly - if they keep the group together, they'll probably be Top 4 at least.

Boro are over performing their current position and that generally levels out as the season carries on. It’s still early doors but I still think Ipswich, Southampton, Sheff U and Leicester all make the playoffs. The former 2 will make it, Leicester probably will but depend on Jan as well as the...
