    Gillingham (Home) Match Thread

Twitter should be entertaining at about 3pm tomorrow when all those who haven't been in months / years turn up at the last minute.

Back to being the biggest club in Coventry?

Don't agree with that at all. Success on the pitch has a big impact. Don't care how good a businessman you are you wouldn't have been predicting a large demand for tomorrows game for example above games earlier in the season. Block booking would be a risk and a potential loss if the hospitality...

Butts Park Arena is new home

How many other clubs have hotels, casinos, shopping centres etc? Extra revenue is of course fantastic but I would think when reference is made to 365 revenues it is for us to be on an equal footing with other clubs not to have facilities and income far inexcess of anyone else.

Butts Park Arena is new home

Isn't average ticket price nearer £10? One of the biggest income streams we lose out on at the moment must be naming rights. If, and of course it is only if, the naming rights to the stadium and various stands could be sold for a decent amount that would make a big difference.

    Northampton Town FC - SAVETHECOBBLERS

Can see them not getting out of this mess. If they do go pop hopefully there will be an investigation into Cardoza and where the money has gone. Odd to thing that it wasn't too long ago I was warning some NT fans that if Cardoza was happy to do business with SISU they should be concerned about...

Just needs a few nights out at Jumpin Jaks with Joe Cole and he'll be fine.

Butts Park Arena is new home

I can see the Butts as a viable option for 15-20K, moving past that I think you'd start to struggle. Shame the old folks place is being built. If that land was in the mix there might be more options, you could even consider incorporting office space and a theatre into any new build to replace...

Back to being the biggest club in Coventry?

The Wasps ticket offers are back out in force, posted an example earlier in this thread. As for comparing corporate take up there is definitely a fair chunk of free hospitality at Wasps games, of course they can do that at cost in the hope of bringing in future business, a model which doesn't...

    Old record shops in town

I don't remember clothes being sold, when are those pics from? Dread to the how much money I spent in there. Shame you don't get shops like that any more. My Saturday routine would be bus into town and a trip round all the record stores, lunch from Fishy Moores then up to Hits n Misses.

    Cole and Turner

Did he mention Bigi? If he's said Turner is here short term to get fit but not made a similar comment to Bigi is that a hint he could be staying?

    A message to disillusioned parents!

I took the wife to a match once, getting divorced now. Not sure the two events aren't linked.

    worried

Agreed, obviously want to win and go top but if we lose I hope everyone doesn't lose the plot. We have a tendency to overreact to a defeat at the best of times.

Back to being the biggest club in Coventry?

Not sure I agree with this. What profile do Wasps have? I'm pretty certain if you went to any town centre and asked 100 people where Coventry City played a lot more would know the answer than if you asked where Wasps played. Similar if you asked who played at the Ricoh I'm sure more people...

    club shop arena park

Haven't heard of any ticketing problems for this Sunday but they did manage to lose a whole batch of ticket orders off the system for the opening game this season.

    club shop arena park

The cards are for ST holders and they aren't free to supply. Plus from what I am told the club was quoted a very high price to make use of the same system. Everyone else still needs to buy tickets and pay a booking fee. If you recall we did try using a card system that could be topped up for...

    club shop arena park

Wasps used a white box ticketmaster 360 system. We could move to that but you'd be looking at charges of getting on for £5 a ticket. That would either need to be passed on or the club would have to take a significant hit on ticket revenue.

Maybe they should pre-print blocks of tickets and you just get whatever is next? I know some will moan about not getting to pick but if they could print a limited amount for the shop and ticket office and leave the rest on line if you want to pick a specific seat.

The ticketing is an issue and the feedback from the SCG meeting this week was that they know it is an issue. I can imagne if they are planning to scrap the current system as its not fit for purpose it is a fairly tricky task to switch systems midway through the season.

Coventry City agree to extend Joe Cole's loan

Without knowing the details of what, if anything, we are paying its hard to judge so I'll trust TM's judgement on this.
