None of that would leave the club “debt free” though would it, it would just mean that the debt has been transferred. So either the statement is misleading or the club is no longer in debt to SISU or any SISU associated companies or anyone else for the club to be “debt free”.

The club’s statement says “The deal will involve clearing all of the Club’s current debts, leaving it debt free.” So the suggestion seems to be that he’s taking an 85% share for clearing the debt. Would it not?

Personally I find it hard to believe that Doug will ever own that 85%. My gut feeling is that it was a stunt before yesterday and leverage on the price that SISU end up selling 100% of the club to MA for. I think it’s about SISU putting a stake in the ground of the value of CCFC on the premise...

He’s certainly a character. All I know about him is he sponsored OMG’s BSB team and they cleaned up this season, Brad Ray won the championship and OMG won the team’s.

My gut is telling me that it’s either that or setting the stage for more JR’s. Or both, set the scene for more JR’s in an effort to strengthen their arm ahead of negotiating to sell the club to MA. Pay us this much and we’ll drop the JR’s.
