I see CJ has got his mug in the Telegraph. Hard to miss his flag last night. Just behind the goal.

Ah, but as I said before, for me is was just a question of not wanting to see England lose and always rooting for a win. It's inherent in me. And, we did very nearly blow it last night. First half of extra time it was all Colombia and I feared the worst. Don't know what Southgate said to them...

You telling me that if the ref had given Falcao a dressing down (no card) he would have been castigated after the game? Just for pulling him to one side and telling him to cool things down? Why have other refs done it then at the World Cup? I have seen refs go and talk to both sets of players...

I am reading report after report of the ref losing control of the players last night. Why is that not happening in every match? It has happened on a few occasionsin the tournament, but clearly the ref lost control last night. You can't just put that down to FIFA. The ref last night was weak...

And yes, if he had clamped down on dissent he definitely would have sent more off. You are not allowed to push and jostle the ref.

Oddly? Why oddly? I am sure other posters would confirm. If I have time I will look back, because I even mentioned it on here somewhere during the game in question. Yes, the guy who headbutted Henderson should have been sent off. The ref didn't even see it. Had he done he may well have sent...

Agree with that, BUT, I have seen refs in this competition have control, so it is not just all about FIFA. If other refs had followed the example of the very good refs it would eradicate most of the problem anyway. There HAVE been refs in this tournament that have had control. Why have...

Couple of things made me a proud Englishman last night and one of them was Harry MaGuire's reaction when he went down in the area. He immediately got up and signalled to the ref 'no pen.' Just wondering if we would ever see that from the French, or the Germans, or the Spanish, or any other the...

He could and I have seen at least two refs do it in this competition and therefore gain the respect of the players. Can't remember exactly which games unfortunately, but one especially was taking no nonsense and the players reacted accordingly and he had full control all match.

    Colombia

Unsurprisingly, the Colombians didn't think too much of the ref.

Best And Worst Of This World Cup ?

Yes, totally agree. It was the level of it. Screaming in his face etc. It was so intense and so vitriolic.
