The forwards are the first line of defence really, especially as you are otherwise likely to get overloaded

Oxford we looked good both halves going forward. We've been more adventurous with it under Lampard in getting midfielders into the box.

    XG tables

Blackburn's recent form demonstrating the same. Our xG has ironically been a bit lower than the season average in recent weeks mind

BTA had two close goal attempts, he definitely offered more threat than Simms. The stats back it up, more shots, more shot creating actions, higher xG, more progressive passes and dribbles

He was in good form without Sheaf.

Not really that surprising, Chelsea played a ridiculously high line. Fair play to City showing some pragmatism.

    Dean Austin position untenable

I think you'll find I was quite positive about his appointment actually Pompey was the worst result and performance of the season, it was objectively a backwards step

    Dean Austin position untenable

Well there wasn't, we've strung some wins together now. I didn't say he'd taken us backwards.

Agreed it's a bit over the top, not as over the top as your criticism of him though

I think it was a CWR problem today. That said, agree that the ifollow service seems to be getting worse. The club's website and app don't help, they're so clunky.

We need to keep up the intensity, we let Watford get to a good crossing position through some quite lax defensive play especially from Simms.

He's a really solid manager at this level, but yeah he's doing better than expected. It's ideal for him really though as he's good at making teams hard to beat. Millwall sacking him has been a disaster for them really.
