On paper a great chance to put some distance between us and 6/7th. But this league dont work like that and every chance we lose and Bristol beat Sheff Utd.
Wonder if we might use the squad a bit with this one. Get the likes of Wright and Sheaf more time and give people the full week to recover...
Would be good to get a full house, always worry when we’ve got two home games in two weeks one will suffer. But the crowd could make such a difference on Saturday.
Think we need to get through the next two and patch a few up/get a few up to speed. Wright and Sheaf look like they need more training, MvE and EMC look like they need a break and Rudi needs a couple of weeks.
A point from the next two and I’m happy. 2 or 4 and I’m ecstatic. Then a good couple...
I think they see Wright as a striker. Maybe just because he hasn’t played much yet because for me it’s obvious he wants the balls to feet at the corner of the box. My worry with Wright is he’s not a Simms style get on the end of things in the box striker and not a crossing wide forward either so...
Well no because any CB will mostly play short easy passes between each other and the GK/FB. So their stats are skewed. They need to be good on the ball precisely because they see so much of it. Or they need to quickly move it to people who are.
ive got him at 79%:

And I don’t think Kitching is much better tbh. Overall I want at least one new CB in the summer. Two if we go up :P
Do I need to break out his pass completion stats again?
He was once again the outfield player with the lowest pass completion today and of his 12 long balls only 4 were accurate. Which is pretty standard for him from what I’ve seen.
I think he’s our best keeper and I think he’ll get better and if he can play like he did today but more so we can be very effective at beating the press. He’s not perfect but the stats show he’s a good keeper at this level ignoring the on the ball stuff.
I think the control is coming with Grimes and the 433. Last three we’ve started to see it for spells during games. I think the spell with five at the back was more spirit than quality but we’ve got confidence now and better quality players coming back.
If we lose to everyone above us, beat everyone bottom half and draw with anyone top half but below us, we get W5 D2 L3. That’s a fairly pessimistic take and gets us 73.
That’s not the run and little aimless tap as he’s about to get tackled tho. Thats what I’m on about. Him lumping it long is fair enough, even a broken clock is right twice a day. He’s a goal threat and a no nonsense CB, he’s not a ball playing CB.
