Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This is a storm in a teacup. Come the end of the month it’ll be done with. I don’t think it’ll have any traction in parliament, Sunak wants to pat himself on the back for the Windsor agreement and Starmer will want to talk about the cost of living, the NHS crisis etc. at PMQ’s as ultimately...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I don’t think they’ll be more people doubting the results. You’ll just get the same people more entrenched in their conspiracy theories that it was already a set up, Boris did nothing wrong, it doesn’t matter anyway etc.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I’m more angry about the bare faced lies about it personally. Boris pretending to be angry about the content of the Allegra Stratton video, standing up in the commons and telling bare faced lies, sending ministers out every day for weeks on the media rounds telling lies etc.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I’m struggling to see how it can do them any harm. It sets a stage of the ingrained mentality of the Tories. If anything I would think that Starmer is disappointed with the reaction from camp Boris, I bet he expected more to jump on the “it was a set up” bandwagon. Boris on the other hand is...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Announcing Sue Gray’s appointment the day before the privilege committee publicly released its findings my yet prove to be a stroke of genius https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-64836425 The response was as inevitable as it was predictable from certain quarters, from the daily mail to...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I think under the 3 line whip that may still be enough, in theory. Pretty sure he was out the country on hastily arranged government business for the Heathrow vote. The guy is a coward though so I wouldn’t be surprised if he begrudgingly votes for it but has his cult members vote against it.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Time will tell but the Tories making a fuss over it I think most sensible people see them as ridiculous people anyway, couple that with them making themselves look even more ridiculous when they start bleating about it. For example

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I think it depends on how he gets it though. If there’s a rebellion in the Tories and it’s big enough that it requires Labour to get it through. There’s also the small matter of whether he has the balls or not to issue the 3 line whip and if he does and there’s still rebels what then? I’m sure...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

He did it at the end of the day, that’s beyond doubt not that it was ever in doubt. Sue Gray didn’t do this in her own. She spoke to dozens and dozens of witnesses, were they all in on it? Was the photographic and video evidence faked? Was the MET who issued the fines based on the evidence in on...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Remember when all the Tories loved, admired and respected Sue Gray. Her honesty and decency was unquestionable. Nobody could question her integrity which was why Boris Johnson was right to appoint her to head of the enquiry into his behaviour.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

If only there was some sort of convention setting out the rules for war. We’d obviously have to set it up in a traditional neutral country, say Switzerland for example. Maybe it’s a pipe dream but I believe that even in war there should be some minimum standards of humanitarian behaviour that...
