No Prison for Rapist Sean Hogg

I think the law restricts the guidelines. My understanding is he didn’t plead guilty so his sentence essentially got down graded as the corroboration rules weren’t fully met. Had he pleaded guilty he would have got a jail sentence.

Course invaders at today's Grand National.

It’s the world we live in. It’s always someone else’s fault and if that someone else is deemed “woke” in some way it’s a two for one.

No Prison for Rapist Sean Hogg

Sadly in Scotland this is an ongoing issue. Scottish law has always had something called the corroboration rule (which basically comes from Ancient Rome and the catholic faith) which is devastating for many victims of crime in Scotland but specifically victims of sexual abuse and rape. Basically...

Sunak having a nightmare today. Firstly his statement on math’s education has fallen mainly on deaf ears, unless you include people looking into the government’s record on recruiting math teachers And now he’s facing an investigation https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65301099

    USSR invades Ukraine.

It’s about time we suspended all the golden visas and freeze all assets of Russian nationals subject to proper scrutiny and investigation like there should have been in the first place. Including Boris’ mate he put in the Lords, which should have it’s own investigation on why he was given a...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

This is why there’s no point engaging in piece talks with Russian. They’ll ultimately mean nothing https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-65297003

Course invaders at today's Grand National.

What goes massively underreported is the deaths during training. Mainly from pulmonary embolisms. They basically train them within an inch of their lives to sort out the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. A hell of a lot of horses don’t make it to the race track, they either die from the...

    Anyone got a wood burner?

Get it installed professionally is my advice. When I got mine I had no end of people telling me do it yourself, you can use the original flue from the gas fire etc etc. 10 minutes on google and it all turned out to be bollocks. Get someone in who knows what they’re doing. At the end of the day I...

    Coventry gigs

Not a concert but a movie about the famous Ska live music scene “Dance Craze” has been restored and is now available to watch on Amazon and Apple for a fiver. I think it’s had/is having some limited cinema showings too.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Oh dear. The SNP are in a right state. Covid restriction 2021 campaign bus my arse. If they really needed it for that why didn’t just rent one, why was it parked at Sturgeon’s mother in law’s driveway and why was the current leader who was a senior party member completely unaware of it...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Yeah, thank god the party in power isn’t full of them types thanks to the current MP’s pay structure.

Compared to NHS staff though. They keep spouting this nonsense that we’re all in it together and everyone has to take some pain. Clearly some public sector workers are in it more than others and are taking more pain than others. My wife works in an NHS department and is on the top rate of the...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

With regards to NHS pay it’s pretty clear what either this government or the next should do. 1) restore their pay, 2) link it to MP’s pay so basically every time that MP’s vote themselves a pay rise NHS staff get the same percentage pay rise. They’re all civil servants at the end of the day and...

    Air fryer

You’ve done the right thing getting a double one. We’re a family of four and our only regret was not getting the double one. Great for cooking and also reheating, don’t use the microwave anymore.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Obviously want to ensure all Ukrainian soldiers fight to the death. No point surrendering if you’re just trying to avoid certain death by committing to certain death. Not sure the Russians have thought this through. Not sure the Russians have thought any of it through though.
