They're on a Cov 19/20 esque run at the moment and an outside bet for autos

So who realistically are the teams left fighting for 5th and 6th

I mean tbf a 50% win rate although a regression from the last 12 games is greater than our last 15 and obviously better than a long term historical norm.

So who realistically are the teams left fighting for 5th and 6th

They've got four very winnable home games

So who realistically are the teams left fighting for 5th and 6th

Middlesbrough looked very fortunate to get a draw at Luton who missed two or three decent chances. It's hard to see them putting a decent run together, but, they do have some decent attacking players so not ruling them out yet. Anybody below them I think are too far away.

    Sunderland player ratings

Kept it very well and took pressure off, according to fbref it was 12 touches in 5 minutes. EMC had 33 in 85. Grimes had 97 in 90.

    Ellis simms

Weird, I said he should have started today and generally defend him but there was an obvious contrast today in application between him and the player he replaced.

What's your point? Do the minutes and injury time after that not count?

    Jamie allen

Consummate professional, hence why he's made as many career appearances at 30 as a lot of players do across a whole career (next one will be his 400th)

    Ellis simms

There was one moment where there was a loose pass back from them but he was on his heels, will he ever have that hunger and the anticipation it drives?

Could a midfield pairing of Allen and Grimes be the lynchpin

Allen was brilliant and brought energy but he inspired it in the others, Torp and Grimes both got about the pitch better today.

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 15th Mar

Sunderland are basically our Mowbray team. Young team, started like a train but ultimately dependent on 3 or 4 young players who are jaded.

Lot of pressure on Wright to deliver now, in a new position whilst looking rustier than a 10 year old Leyland Sherpa. I would have gone with Simms personally.
