Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The cheap labour thing is a myth. Unless you’re talking about specific sectors such as care, farming and hospitality. All sectors that are difficult to mechanise and improve through changing practices. These are jobs (as we seen during furlough) brits just don’t want to do. Freedom of movement...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The ultimate irony is that the EU tax plans in their original conception has hit the buffers but not because of Ireland, because of pressure from the US who wants a global (albeit watered down) response to tax. The very same US we were going to get a trade deal from on day one of Brexit. Again...

Jees, that brexit weren’t half a waste of time. Sovereignty? What sovereignty? ;) Being serious for a moment though and I apologise in advance as I’m going to have to drop the B bomb and not in jest. This is exactly the reason why the likes of Rees-Mogg, the so called tax payers alliance, rich...

Paaa haaa haaa haaa. I think if you realised just what a stupid statement that was you wouldn’t have said it in the first place. On average that £30k saves them over £10M in tax a year, each. They each avoid more tax in a year than over 3500 average earners pay in tax in a year. Cancelling non...

Mmm. And I wonder where they happen to declare the majority of their earnings? Overseas where they pay no tax or in the UK where they pay tax? Naive at best. While on the subject of non doms and the suggestion that non doms will leave the country. It’s utterly bizarre. The UK is in a very small...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Non dom status is an exodus of wealth. They want all the benefits for zero contribution to the very society they benefit from. If cancelling non dom status means they clear off then goodbye. Same with tax avoidance, fuck em. Let some one else who pays their tax take their place. Same for...

I’m not convinced that Dale Evans was even a real person myself. The whole thing stank of a set up.

Staff I could perhaps understand, but not customers. No doubt putting it on an even keel meant some tough decisions. The toxic debt though also happened before his arrival. He would have been at Barclays when the subprime mortgage crisis caught up with the banking sector. Don’t remember Barclays...

Can’t work out if this is a euphemism for masturbation or not :) Glad you’re on the mend mate.

IIRC he was appointed after it crashed in the banking crisis and had been nationalised. Think he was brought in to put it back on an even keel. Not sure why he would be unpopular with customers, the crash, run on money etc all happened before his arrival.

    Take over

Is there a big history of people rushing to buy a club just because it’s been promoted to the PL? Struggling to think of one, not that I’ve paid much attention to what happens in the PL since our relegation. I can see why it would make the club more valuable and how that would benefit Doug though.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Conflicting reports coming out from Bakhmut that Ukrainian army has made major gains. Ukraine confirming it, Russia denying it but Wagner group apparently confirming it also saying Russian soldiers abandoned their positions and Ukrainian soldiers just moved forward, wasn’t even a counter...

    Watford on the Ball

Feel for the fans but the way it’s run makes it a joke of a club. Mind you, the local taxi company must be doing well. Didn’t they go through 4 or 5 managers one season in the premier league?

They’ve got to get the plebs to give “their” money back to the wealthiest somehow.
