The EU has been in constant change since it was formed. That's not going to come to a shuddering halt no matter what the result of the referendum. The difference now is we will be attempting to influence those changes without a seat at the table, unless you're suggesting we won't continue to...

I'm certainly not saying the likes of Cameron and Osbourne aren't full of BS but what would have changed with the situation with Turkey joining the EU prior to the referendum if leave had won? Cameron has always been a supporter of Turkey in the EU but even if he was on the winning side he...

Who are you trying to keep out? The vast majority of workers who come from the EU come to do jobs that UK citizens can't / won't do. It will have zero impact on immigration from non-EU countries. And of course there are other potential impacts. Already the mayor of Calais is pressing for the Le...

By the time there's another budget, emergency or otherwise, it could very well be Gove rather than Osbourne - god help us.

That's exactly my point. It seems to me the two issues at the forefront of the leave campaign were the amount going to the EU, that could instead be spent here, and immigration. Within hours of a leave vote both were being retracted. If I'd voted leave on the basis of one, or both, of those...

Those that voted leave what was the big issue(s) that made you vote that way? I'm seeing a lot of people citing the £350m a week extra we will have (already backtracked on that) and immigration (leave saying they are not sure they can lower immigration), was it one of those or something else?

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

You mean like the Conservatives 16 point contract with voters in the 2010 general election? The one where they said "if we don't deliver our side of the bargain, kick us out in five years"? Didn't actually stick to any of the 16 points yet got a bigger share of the vote in the next election!

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Sure the vast majority of those who have signed have given it no thought and just signed it as a joke but there will also be those who see it as a serious proposition. With so much of the nations wealth in one city its pretty much the same argument again.

The only way you could do it would be to have a compulsory vote. Then you'd have a majority of the electorate voting one way or another.

I'm surprised Labour hasn't made a move like that even prior to this. With the SNP strong in Scotland as an alternative to the Conservatives its going to be incredibly difficult for Labour to regain ground. A coalition of sorts with them, and possibly also firming up the link with the SDLP could...

Why compare the Euro to 18 months ago? It was still down from the financial crash then. Look longer term and you see it was recovering and has now dropped again. Of course that's only one day, we'll need to wait and see how it pans out.

A lot of people, on both sides, don't seem to have even a basic grasp on how these things are linked.

I thought we moved away from manufacturing as well but a chap from the official leave campaign was on the radio yesterday stating that we would now turn the clock back and become a country of manufacturing again. Not sure how that is going to be implemented, he didn't seem too sure either. The...

The total electorate for the referendum was 46,500,001. The leave vote was 17,410,742 which is 37.4%. :)

There was only two bloody options on this but all day there's been a parade of voters on TV and radio saying they voted out but didn't want to leave the EU. You put a cross in the wrong box then!

We need to get moving. The longer it drags on the longer the period of uncertainty which is not good for the economy. I hope Leave have a plan of action and can act upon it quickly.

The referendum has just magnified a problem with politics in general. People don't care about facts, Gove was even on TV saying people don't want to hear from experts! They just want soundbites and don't care if they are factually accurate or not.
