    Ernie tribute

I know this is all very sad, but one positive from these deaths (if there can at all be one) is that for many ex footballers who played in the late 60's and then 70's onwards, there will be footage to be shown for future generations to come. Such a shame we never got to see the likes of...

Yep, same here. Just heard it too many times now. Any song that is overplayed can become an irritation I find, even songs you really love. I do love Imagine by John Lennon, but have just heard it too many times now, so it loses all potency and impact. Wish they would play 'Woman is the...

Yeah, but think this is more to do with stuff really getting on your nerves. It is for me anyway. Sometimes certain songs just irritate you like hell.

Who's that by? Never heard of it.

    Brandon Mason

Was saying the same thing yesterday. Could well be Chelsea expect him to feature as much as possible. I can see Grimmer at right back and Sterling further forwards too.

Match Thread Coventry City vs Scunthorpe United Match Thread - Saturday 4th Aug

Yes, from corners and set pieces we did look very vulnerable. Thought Scunthorpe were excellent with their set plays.

    Transfer Rumour Kasper Larsen

Yeah, we should have dropped Murphy and brought in Raheem Sterling in instead. ;)

    Death of the high street

Same with McDonald's. Any negative story on their practices or environmental impact or quality of their product is just met with a 'well it's cheap and I like it' attitude. People are very two faced. Happy to jump all over something that doesn't affect them personally, but have no moral compass...

Yeah, talking about the one in the first half down by the Scunthorpe corner flag.

    Brandon Mason

Yeah, get that, but I'm not having a go at him and making assumptions long term a la Greggs. I am just saying he didn't play that well yesterday and pretty much everyone agrees. Don't see how that warrants a 'bloody hell'.

    Brandon Mason

Yes. He also obviously has to show consistency and that might be something in his make-up he needs to improve on. He was clearly better than Sterling yesterday though and showed more threat and more composure.

i take it back. He was brilliant, absolutely outstanding and never put a foot wrong all game long.

    Brandon Mason

Yeah, agree and it might well have been the sun in his eyes. He didn't even seem to take a second thought, even though he did have time on the ball. My problem at the time was that he didn't even think, even though he clearly had time to do so to see what the best option was. If it was the sun...

    Brandon Mason

Eh? Not having a go at him, not getting on his back, not saying drop him, not saying he's crap, just saying he didn't play that well yesterday and that was clearly apparent.
  18. Otis

    Brandon Mason

He did. Sterling did that one jig past a defender that drew a foul, but besides that didn't show very much.

Need to see it again, because I am always the very last to get on any player's back. At the time he seemed to have an age on the ball, but didn't even look and hit it back without thinking. That's how it came across to me. Would love to see it again.

'Simply the Best.' Another dirge, by a very good artist.
