Match Thread Southend v Coventry Match Thread - Saturday 10th Dec

Unless Venus decides to play Sordell at right back ;) Just play your striker up front, stop trying to over complicate things with formations and positions the players aren't used to.

    Investment on the Horizon?

Not quite that straightforward. They started as Birmingham Baron's before moving to Solihull in 1964 due to the rink in Birmingham closing. In 1968 they went out of business and a phoenix club, Solihull Vikings, were formed in 1970 lasting until 1974. A new Solihull Barons was started in 1972...

    SOMETHING ABOUT JR D

According to companies house the shareholders in Otium are Arvo and Sky Blues Sports and Leisure

    Investment on the Horizon?

Mentioned that before, what if someone purchased Wasps and CCFC and then slid ACL over to the CCFC side of the business and sold Wasps on.

    Investment on the Horizon?

I would love this to be true. If you could get the club and ground for £25 to 30 mill that's a much better prospect than just handing £10 to 15 mill over to SISU. Don't think Mal is on the wind up as he's been reliable in the past but at the same time not going to get my hopes up until there's...

    Top 6 Budget?

Certainly was. Doesn't mean everyone else's is the same.

We're going to win this and use it as a springboard for our L2 promotion campaign.

    SOMETHING ABOUT JR D

Think this is right, sure OSB can confirm. Otium trade as CCFC but Otium are owned by Arvo and Sky Blues Sports and Leisure. SBS&L is owned by Brody and Sconsnet Arvo and Sconsnet are investment funds managed by SISU (not sure about Arvo as that's registered in the Caymans).

Brian Richardson or Tim Fisher ?

Funnily enough I was speaking to someone earlier in the week who used to do some work for Richardson (a non City fan, not even a football fan) and he didn't have a bad word to say about him. Choosing between Fisher and Richardson isn't much of a choice but I suppose you have to go with...

Just got in, nice to see we're winning but how are we playing - doesn't seem to be many comments about the game!

New Striker- Loan - Jack McBean

There has to be more to this, something like them paying us a few quid for him to come over and train and get a bit of experience of english football, albeit in the reserves.

    JR2 - SISU's bargaining tool?

Interesting. Would it therefore not have been in the council's interest to sell ACL a 200 year lease extension prior to the sale to Wasps? Seems odd not to, especially as the extension was agreed in the same council meeting as the sale of ACL.

    JR2 - SISU's bargaining tool?

Surely if finding someone to buy at the valuation price would be a problem it would be an indication the valuation is too high?

    JR2 - SISU's bargaining tool?

I get that but isn't that just giving detail of how they arrived at the valuation. A couple of pages before that it states that the valuation is the amount they would expect if the lease was sold on the valuation date. Which would mean its not a random amount for accounting purposes or a...

    What is it about Coventry?

The current pool costs £2K a day to run, that's £730K a year. The water park is costing £36m and the 50M pool £14m, that's £50m in total. The council have stated the pool will not be self sustaining so the taxpayer will still need to contribute to running costs - I don't buy the idea that the...

    I feel guilty

I guess I can why you'd want us to lose if you thought it would mean Venus going or SISU going but neither of those are on the cards so why would you not want us to win?

    Has he gone yet?

Is that all that was said? There's a big difference between they're starting the recruitment process and will have someone coming in during Jan and not having even considered getting someone in.

    Westworld

I'll probably give the whole lot another run through at some point. Partly because I enjoyed it and partly as I might understand it second time round!
