If we’re playing BTA as an AM then tbh I’d take Bamford as the third striker. Or someone with something different to what Wright and Simms offer.

We aren’t looking for starters on the wings. We need players who can come on and hold their own/make an impact for 20 mins or the odd start midweek against lower teams. We aren’t Pompey pinning our hopes on this lad, and in the three games he’s started the position we’re likely to play him in...

Think Hughes is probably the only one you’d be sure that’s the case and not sure Doug’s got the bollocks (secured investment) to drop £15m or whatever he costs.

You think we’re using this lad as a LW? I can see it as he’s right footed. Do still think we could bring a 10 in though. The ability to change the three behind the striker would be huge.

Hoping we get one more AM/forward and can bring 2/3 on every game as finishers. Then a CM and I’m happy.

We could definitely still sign a LW and play Esse as a 10.
