Coventry City fans to discuss possibility of supporter-led takeover

Which is why I would like someone from the Trust or elsewhere to explain how it would work for us. That hasn't been forthcoming.

And talking about a fan takeover leading to a return to the PL!

Coventry City fans to discuss possibility of supporter-led takeover

Portsmouth's situation is nothing like ours. They purchased a L1 club out of administration with a loan from their council to purchase the ground. They had parachute payments still coming in to cover CVA and football debts. Fan ownership as a concept is a great idea but how could it work for us...

And it would be brilliant if that model was adopted in England but until it is then its not really going to impact on fan run clubs in our league.

Then it comes down to what has to happen to make that change. If we're saying admin has to happen then there's a very good chance we'd take over a non-league club. Is that worth doing to get rid of SISU. Of course there's no reason to think that under SISU we wouldn't end up there anyway. I'm...

    Is Administration a desirable outcome?

They've actually been in admin four or five times but I think the administrator he was referring to was Andrew Andronikou. It was a similar situation to ours. The clubs owners controlled the administration and put their preferred administrator in place. To keep it simple Pompey owned various...

    Is Administration a desirable outcome?

And then a huge helping hand when the FL said they would not issue the golden share to anyone but the supporters trust which effectively sunk the other bidder.

    Is Administration a desirable outcome?

Can't disagree with any of that. The other thought I had about administration is what the Trust would actually end up with. Chances are we're in L2 next season and any boycott or similar won't come into effect until then as obviously this years season tickets have already been sold. So lets say...

Coventry City fans to discuss possibility of supporter-led takeover

The trust have been working on this for two years we are told. I would expect after two years for them to have something to show for it. That's not unreasonable when they start talking about people putting money into escrow accounts and committing to buying shares is it? This is the point isn't...

    Walsall-last home game

Did this weeks go ahead? Didn't seem much sign of a protest at the end of the game. Figured everyone was just fed up and went home / to the pub.

Think is Fisher has said he will attend a Trust event. He's also said that while the club isn't on the market any club is for sale if the right offer comes in. Not sure what people are waiting for him to say, that's as open an invite as you'll get.

Thats the perfect example. Him saying that was followed by 10 mins of others on the stage having a dig at SISU. Not to say its undeserved but we need to think about what the objective is. The Trust needs to be whiter than white, make sure there's nothing that can come back on them. The Pompey...

    To the "Slade out!!!" Brigade

The second part is key. Not pretty is fine if its going to keep us up. Not so much if we're still going to lose every week.

Think it would be a hard sell. Look at the response when Maddison was sold. That was to cover the cost of keeping the club going as SISU had to put in an emergency loan to cover cash flow.

Coventry City fans to discuss possibility of supporter-led takeover

For me now I'd like to see something from the Trust to outline the major scenarios. Buying from SISU, buying from admin and liquidation. What is required for each and what as supporters we could expect to be the outcome. There's no way the fans are buying off SISU without some serious...

Coventry City fans to discuss possibility of supporter-led takeover

If you look on SD at the clubs majority fan owned in the FL its AFC Wimbledon, Exeter City and Wycombe Wanderers. No disrespect to any of them as its obviously a tough thing to pull off but I don't think that's the level our fans are thinking off when they talk about fan ownership. I think...

Coventry City fans to discuss possibility of supporter-led takeover

If the trust are listening to the people they had along to the meeting as experts then they need to greatly distance themselves from protests and boycott (anyone else notice Moz get JHW and SBT mixed up at the end, doesn't give a big impression of separation). Need to work on repairing the...

I'm not sure how you can be there and not pick up on a push to boycott.
