I'd have thought it's obvious that I omitted the point about inflatables because I agree with you on that. Checking bags is not bizarre however, and a handbag can conceal more than pockets so it'd be discriminatory towards men to not search women's bags. Equality and all that.

    Hoffman in the Sunday Telegraph

I'm not sure you could really be convicted of not forcibly preventing someone getting in their car and driving off.

That's not bizarre. Searching bags of any kind is one of the few things that does make sense, why would it be exempt from search because it's a handbag?

    Forest fire proof bed sheet????

Easy on Mandela, your human rights aren't being violated.

The media really wouldn't care about people being searched before entering a venue for a single second. If you've been touched inappropriately, you've got a story.

    Phone-in question.

Juke had a few shots today. Peter Reid was a midfield terrier rather than a defender, wasn't he? I remember him failing to stop Maradona very early on in that goal.

First time for me too. I understand stewards and security personnel are only doing their job, but a surly attitude towards people who have shown nothing of the sort towards them can only drive people away and sour relationships further. Customer service still applies.

    Forest fire proof bed sheet????

The thing about it being a universal rule was shown to be false pretty much instantly. They've since clarified the rules for the Ricoh, so that's all anyone should pay attention to now surely.

    Phone-in question.

I'd take players over coaching staff right now without hesitation.

    Murphy!

I'm not one of those who suddenly thinks a player was always terrible as soon as they leave us, but all I saw of Westwood were the hesitant kicks to nobody in particular and the refusal to throw the ball out.

    Health and Safety

Not really related, but I remember seeing someone take an almighty fall trying to catch a foul ball at an MLB game. He was fine, but it was the kind of height someone could easily have died from. Also, he caught the ball and held on to it even when falling. That's commitment baby.

    Murphy!

I still have issues over his handling, primarily from mistakes made earlier in the season (Palace in particular). I think he's got Westwood beat when it comes to distribution though.

You do see the kids swarm for those balls, I'm surprised nobody's taken a fall. Incidentally, did someone get to keep the ball Jutkiewicz charitably fired into the crowd late on?

The guys searching were a charming bunch indeed, but please can people stop going on about the big shirt they wave about and then put away quickly as if it has any relevance to the rules surrounding things kept in the crowd.

    Bell again!

I thought he had a good game. Whether that's 'a good game' or 'a good game for David Bell' is another thing.

Unable to be there....what's the honest assessment?

McDonald's still off the pace a little, not as involved as he was at times at Ipswich. Jutkiewicz had a good game bar an obvious downer. Overall we can't really sniff at the point, even if it's gutting to miss out on three points.

I Thought AT "wouldnt swap our players for anyone"

The main problem here is seeing a common phrase and taking it literally. If he says 'the lads gave 110%', promise me your head won't explode.
