Maybe best done and dusted well before, 4 days before the new season kicks off. I know it sounds crazy but reckon that may have been an idea. Season ended 3 months ago. More than enough time to be resolved, either way and not have this crap disrupting a good pre-season.

The public sector have all had cuts and freezes forced on them. Their pensions are getting changed half way through what they signed up for. Problem is with footballers there are plenty clubs out there willing to pay the stupid wages for a free transfer.

Is it possible that suggesting that the OP has sat at home and invented a story about Carl baker, bonus, salary drops, appearances and sky. Is just as unrealistic as the story itself. Which is more likely SISU to try and threaten something like this or the OP to have randomly created this story...

I would hope AT will see it as another opportunity to try and get team to develop an understanding of each other and the new players and the system of play. I am expecting a strong side.
