It might be obvious to some but there are many people who will assume that's the norm and be up in arms.

That's what the Lib Dems wanted but we got a referendum on alternative vote instead. Problem was apart from the Lib Dems there was little campaigning, that whole thing was a bit of a waste of time. Proportional representation is the way to go for me. Every vote counts.
