    Fisher speaks on Robins departure

I'd be surprised if Robins says much about why he left now. He's really got no reason to, he's certainly not going to pull on any heartstrings when he's walked out after five months. Best thing he can do is talk up his new team and barely acknowledge us.

    Oscar Pistorius

Turns out he used a starter pistol, so it's being treated as race related.

    Confidentiality clause

I'd imagine there are a number of people slagging him off about the 'sky blue blood/I love this club' stuff who would turn around on a sixpence and take his word as gospel if it includes criticism of the board.

    Oscar Pistorius

The general theory appears to be that his girlfriend tried to surprise him for Valentine's and he shot her after mistaking her for a burglar. Surely even with burglars you give yourself a second to identify them.

Should SISU be on the phone to Northampton

It's exactly that, an empty criticism of managers in order to slag off the board by proxy too. What does a 'yes man' entail? Doing the job they've agreed to and carrying out discussions nobody here knows about? What should they be doing?

Odds for next Cov manager already running

I bet you'll still hear his tan somehow. It transcends the senses, it's so powerful.

Should SISU be on the phone to Northampton

Don't like the manager - yes man! Manager doing well - obviously standing up to the evil tyrants! Magic.

    M r

He signed a three-year contract, with a release clause that was most likely insisted upon in light of this week. You can't get much more long-term planning when you're a team who've changed managers more than once per year on average.

Should SISU be on the phone to Northampton

Such people rarely exist outside the paranoia of people looking for reasons to moan about a board, I wouldn't worry.

    Nigel Adkins

He's just been let go by a Premier League team which many saw as a harsh decision. I can't imagine why he'd need to drop two divisions, his reputation should see him in contention when higher jobs come up.

    Paul Scholes

Just imagine. He'd be the best player to have appeared in the third division for many a year, if not the best. Until David Bell returned, obviously.

    Eric black

He was at Blackburn last with Kean, I think he was let go along with him.

Should SISU be on the phone to Northampton

It brought results, but those results very quickly became consistent and uninspiring defeats. No ta.

    Eric black

Why not. Either he'll be a success or put an end to his name coming up every time there's a vacancy.

    whelan

Because our recent history has a number of people who fancy playing at being a football manager and completely fail? The one time we get someone who's actually managed, he does so well he's immediately poached. We'd be insane to go back to the 'you never know' philosophy.

    wow

Most contract negotiations insist on clauses of some kind. Managing a third division side would definitely be one of them.

    Westley sacked by Preston

You and Tom bloody love the drama. Did the scene fade to black as you stared into the middle distance?

    Comment A Go-Go:

That's a risk faced by 99% of managers everywhere. Let's not forget he's in talks with Huddersfield who got rid of Lee Clark while they were very much set for promotion, which is way more trigger-happy than we've been in recent times.
