Well as the statement says "due to growing speculation and comment", which to be fair is true if you read SBT, I think they did the right thing. The club have been attacked for not releasing statements in the past and failing to keep the fans "informed" so again, damned if you do, etc etc...

I wonder if any club in the country has fans who seemed more concerned with the accounts than the team. As Stu said, they are damned either way.

First post in the thread shows exactly why they have done it though. I agree with you they shouldn't have to release a statement saying they've done it, but many on here have said it won't happen, they'll be an embargo, etc etc, so I can see why they have done so.

Why is it? There seems to be stalemate over the Ricoh and if NB move there (though I think that's unlikely) then a new stadium is the only way to go. I agree though, I think the bravado of "I won't go to the new stadium" line is bollocks.
