He’s been playing mostly out wide for Sheff Utd (a ridiculous decision btw) so of course his defensive numbers won’t be the same. Doesn’t mean he’s lost the ability to do it.
Last season Sheff Utd would’ve been reluctant to sell and he had plenty to run on his contract.
This season he’s out of favour and has questions over fitness.
I think a fit Hamer would actually be the perfect signing for us, can play any of the 3 positions in our midfield. And less risk than someone new to the club.
I think it’s the other way around. If Birmingham do get that stadium built it gives them a solid platform. For Wrexham surely fan and sponsor interest will wane if they don’t get promoted in 2-3 years.
