Anyone following this Kavanaugh supreme court senate hearing?

All of this is true. He's got a legacy he doesn't deserve because he was assassinated, even though he did do some good things in terms of civil rights. Getting killed was the best thing to ever happen to him in terms of how people remember him. Same with Jimmy Dean - shite actor IMO. As for the...

    The official NFL Thread

I think Cousins is over-rated. Half decent, but nowhere near as good as made out - too many errors and tends to choke under pressure. Remember when he had to spike a ball and kneed it instead and time ran out?

Who says women's football isn't exciting!

That's very similar to one I scored against Whitley Juniors around 1993/94. At least mine was on the floor and easier to control though. Bloody keeper ran out to boot it and fell over his own feet and it trickled into the corner of the net.

Jordan Shipley - is he good enough for league 1

I was wondering earlier if Shipley could eventually be groomed for the Doyle role, as he does a lot of unseen work and prefers the centre by all accounts. I think he could, provided two things: 1. He stops pulling out of challenges 2. He becomes more vocal and starts to organise, which may come...

Anyone following this Kavanaugh supreme court senate hearing?

Certainly no fan of the Clinton's and when they nominated Hillary I thought they'd picked the one candidate who could lose to Trump. Just so unlikeable and smarmy, giving this impression of superiority over everyone. In terms of sexually predatory I'd say Bill and Don are probably about equal...

Jordan Shipley - is he good enough for league 1

As a squad player yes. He's not going to pull up trees but will provide a good balance doing stuff that goes unnoticed like positioning and can cover for a few positions if absolutely necessary. I'd be more likely to play him away than at home though, where I'd prefer a more attacking option.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Portsmouth Match Thread - Tuesday 2nd Oct

TBH two or three games ago I wouldn't have had half that team in myself, but with injuries etc and the need for balance that's what I think is best from what's available. I don't think it's a great team and would probably change it if we were away. Personally I'm not sure as to Kelly's fitness...

Anyone following this Kavanaugh supreme court senate hearing?

Thing I really don't understand is why are the nominations made by the president? I thought the whole point of the three branches was independence, so how is it independent if one section gets to choose the members of another? Surely it should be up to the Law Society (or the US equivalent) to...

Anyone following this Kavanaugh supreme court senate hearing?

Going by his response and body language I'd suggest Kavanaugh has something to hide. Crossed arms, voice wavering, drinking lots of water, attacking questioners and avoiding answering - he just came across as disingenuous and very nervous. But I'm just as annoyed with the committee on both...

_____________Burge Sterling____Willis___Hyam___Camwell Thomas___Doyle___Bayliss___Shipley __________Baka___JCH Subs: LOB, Davies, Thompson, Kelly, Andreu, Jones, Hiwula I don't like playing players out of position, hence why I'm bringing Camwell in rather than Davies and moving Willis. OK...

If he was on 3-4 yr contract in last Prem season then after two relegations in successive seasons he'd be on that much. If he doesn't have a relegation reduction clause he'd still be on that contract and why would he leave - no-one else will give him that much and if Sunderland have to pay him...

    Player Ratings

Burge 8 Two fantastic saves. Maybe set up the wall a bit wrong for the free kick that hit the bar. Brown 6 Not really on long enough to have a good or bad game Willis 7 Did well in the centre and coped well when pushed out into unfavoured RB spot Hyam 7 Unlucky to be booked early on but dealt...

    Loaning our players restriction ?

Yes, the top players do get paid grossly inflated wages for something of no consequence, but at the same time if the money is coming into the game why shouldn't the players be the biggest beneficiaries? Stuff like this brings out the worst in people - everyone has worked with someone that pissed...

Agree with all this apart from Bayliss. Tried dribbling too often and lost the ball and had a couple of chances to play striker in and ran instead.

Willis has never look particularly comfortable at full back and with Thomas he wasn't going to get much cover. I think his greater experience now helps him cover for his deficiencies in the position now, but I don't think he'll be there too often if it can be helped.

Only worry is the changing weather. We don't seem to like playing in the cold and rain.

If you ignore the fact he should've been off before half time.... Either keeper for me, or JCH.

You do feel we're not far off in this league. Mid table and nowhere near playing the kind of football I reckon we're capable of.
