Match Day Thread - Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Limited and Others -v- Coventry City Council and Others

I wouldn't. Once Derek Higgs died there didn't seem to be anybody at the charity who had any affinity for CCFC.

Match Day Thread - Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Limited and Others -v- Coventry City Council and Others

You can see the groundwork already being laid for that. And you only have to look at the original sale to see that a bit of 'look over there at SISU' PR from Wasps allows them to get away with pretty much anything.

But they can't put the rent up. As we all know Ann Lucas assured everyone that Wasps ownership of the Ricoh would not have a negative impact on CCFC. Think you'd struggle to find anyone who termed a massive rent increase as a positive. Or could it be we were fed a load of shit to keep people...

    CCFC New Statement.

The whole reason we ended up with SISU is that once it became clear the council weren't prepared to consider the club having an ownership stake in the stadium they were they only one of the seven bidders still interested. Said it before, unless you have a connection to the club why would you...

Nuneaton Boro on the brink of folding

That's what I'm getting at. Did he pocket the money for himself and then walk away? Whats this Port Vale chap like, reasonable? Do the fans just need to keep the day to day going to at least buy them time or will he be demanding silly money for rent?

    CCFC New Statement.

Thing is buying the stadium in the first place and the damage that caused to the long term future of CCFC meant that should have had the same outcome you describe but as shown in documents seen in the various legal proceedings a PR campaign was undertaken, with the help of the Telegraph, and...

Things never seem to get any better over there. Are they just badly run or is there an underlying issue? Still if they go bust and Wasps kick us out ...

Match Day Thread - Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Limited and Others -v- Coventry City Council and Others

That’s not what is being said. The council have made, and continue to make, claims about the Ricoh sale which they have presented zero evidence to back up. Not least that it is in the best interest of the taxpayer and that it will not be to the detriment of CCFC or CRFC. Personally I couldn’t...

Match Day Thread - Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Limited and Others -v- Coventry City Council and Others

The council might want to present it as that but has anything in the legal proceedings shown that to be the case? The deal being legal and being in the best interests of the taxpayer aren’t necessarily the same thing. So onwards to the next appeal.

    CCFC New Statement.

Can't really argue with anything in that. Its common practice in the business world to put aside legal issues being fought at a higher level to get on with the day to day business. Samsung and Apple being a very high profile current example. Anyone who thinks Dave Boddy or anyone involved in...

I don't really get how UFC is legal. At a time when sports with virtually no contact sports are under the spotlight for long term damage to the brain why is nobody questioning UFC? There were 24 fighters on the last bill, 13 are currenlty banned from fighting on medical grounds.
