Match Day Thread - Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Limited and Others -v- Coventry City Council and Others

Who has tried to buy the club since the Ricoh was sold to Wasps? Haskell was the last 'serious' bid. If you recall he was last reported as being seen going in to the council house with Joe Elliott for a meeting and was then never heard from again. Was later revealed he didn't have the money...

Looks like that will be the end of it. Absolutely hammering it down.

Nuneaton Boro on the brink of folding

Reckon you'd have to buy some land off the rugby club and then pretty much build a ground from scratch. If that was on the cards might as well build a new ground in Cov.

    CCFC New Statement.

Reckon there was two options. 1) the council hold on to the Ricoh. We now, despite the councils claims at the time, that it wasn't performing as a business but it was badly managed so that was something that could have been improved. They could have kept hold of it until CCFC had new owners...

    CCFC New Statement.

My post was referring to the point at which SISU took over. During that process we have seven potential new owners bidding. Six of them walked away as their plan for the club involved stadium ownership, or at least partial ownership. That left SISU, the councils preferred option.

And the biggest obstacle stopping the club getting new owners is the fact the ground is now owned by a rugby club. Unless you have a connection to the club you'd look to take over any other club in the country ahead of us.

    Bob Mortimer

He was sat behind me once at a show in London. Seemed a genuinely nice bloke that was happy to chat with everyone, take pics etc rather than hide away in VIP. Loved Shooting Stars, wish they would bring it back. His recent show with Paul Whitehouse is well worth a watch. What phone have you...

    This looks well dodgy

Even if you were a billionaire why would you put 5m on a game like this? Definitely seems dodgy.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Wycombe Wanderers Match Thread - Saturday 13th Oct

Bizarrely it goes back to the chairman of Burnley in the 1960s who thought having games on TV would mean all the grounds were empty. As all games were then played at 3pm on Saturday the Football Law created a rule that any games at that time couldn't be broadcast. It also applied to games...

Nuneaton Boro on the brink of folding

It seems odd that someone like that has bought it. But is there even the slightest chance it would be viable. Realistically you'd need 15K, trying to think back to our games there in the past. Would there even be enough room to bring it up to the required standard. That's before you even...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Wycombe Wanderers Match Thread - Saturday 13th Oct

Back 4 likely to be the same as we don't really have much in the way of options at the moment. Reckon he'll stick with Bayliss rather than start Kelly, certainly won't be dropping Doyle. Up front is the interesting one. Bakayoko surely has to play so if you assume he starts do you go with JCH...

Nuneaton Boro on the brink of folding

They only signed Baker a few weeks ago. Don't imagine he's a low earner at that level and they must have been well in the shit by then. Looks like they average 3 home games a month with crowds around 500. If they were all full price non-season ticket holders that would only be around £18K...

    Poor old wasps!!!

quick look at twitter shows pretty much all rugby fans hate Wasps and a lot of people think the league they play in is overhyped and the league the other team play in is better.

Its like Northampton all over again. Nobody in the ground and a few fans watching from the hill.
