Match Thread Coventry City vs. Luton Town Match Thread - Saturday 15th Dec

They definitely played a part in me deciding to leave before the end of the match, first time I've ever done that. But the bigger reason for leaving was that not only were we complete shit nobody looked the slightest bit interested in trying to turn things around.

It’s defense v attack. We’re sat far too deep and they are pushing us further back. So far back that when they pass it back to Burge he’s under pressure straight away and has no time to do anything with it. Trying to play out from the back we struggle to make it past the half way line, lump it...

It’s cold, wet and windy. Forecast is to get worse as the match goes on.

Fair play to Luton, traveled in numbers on a horrible day. How come the naughty corner is empty, staying for an extra pint in the warmth of the pub?

I would be surprised if the casino hadn't already had words with Wasps. 23 plus match days lost with thousands of people attending who like a pint or two would be a significant loss for them. There's probably a financial penalty in the casino's favour if Wasps manage to lose that much business...

And how much is the owner now owned? If I was in his position unless I was a die hard fan I'd be seriously thinking about getting my money back and getting out. Losing money, falling crowds and now a deal which will, after the short term boost, mean they have less money coming in every year.

Horrible news, gutted for him. As hard as it will be to comeback from this physically I hope the club are also making sure he gets help mentally. Got to be difficult to deal with.

    Wasps current finances & hope

This has got to be one of the worst decisions a sport has ever made, and there's some stiff competition. Selling out the game for short term greed. The clubs will waste no time spending their windfall and then complain they have less money coming in every year. No doubt leading to another sale...

Doesn't make it a waste of time. If someone like JLR were to start asking questions of Wasps upper management it would have an impact. Must be a lot of Cov fans employed at JLR, maybe they should give their employer some feedback.

You can’t even file a complaint against them let alone a vote of no confidence. Tried getting on to the local government ombudsman about the clear lies from the council only to be told you can’t file a complaint for anything that affects a large number of people in the councils area!

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Surely if there is a second referendum the best idea is for everyone to get out and vote. If and when leave gets a better result than the first time round it will be hard for the remainers to claim leave is not the will of the people.

The Wasps supporter at work who repeats any old rubbish Wasps say as fact reckons they’re giving out 15K free tickets for the next home game. Guess it must be their equivalent of our community day.

And don’t forget Coventry is the European City of Sport next year. Will look great if in the same year the football club ceases to exist.

Cardiff Devils on Boxing Day or Nottingham Panthers on Saturday 29th (7pm so doesn't clash our home game at the Ricoh) are probably your best bets.

If you were a citizen of Coventry and not a city fan would you not be concerned about the loss of the millions in economic benefits having a professional football club brings to the city each year? Or the loss of all the work Sky Blues in the Community does?
