The idea is that if the linesman flags immediately and play is stopped if VAR shows it was the wrong decision you can't go back. If they let the play conclude and then flag if VAR shows they were wrong any goal scored can stand.

They’ve been told not to flag until the play is finished because of VAR.

VAR ruined another game. Pickford should have been off, the offside is irrelevant. Why on earth was the ref not told to go and take a look on the screen? And no way you can rule the Liverpool 'winner' off for offside. Why is the near 20cm margin of error never mentioned? All the summarisers...

I think you're getting shielding mixed up with something else. People that were told to shield were not allowed to leave the house at all. They also had to distance from anyone in their household - the advise was not to be in the same room.

If they isolate the ones who have tested positive they'll be fine won't they? Would be hilarious if they got kicked out through.

Also the ground that was shielded is not the same group being talked about as having underlying conditions, its a tiny fraction of that much bigger group.
