Coventry Council WILL support a new stadium...

I don't have to imagine. I've been attending all home matches since the Gillingham game.

Well, where did they form and where are they now based? You work it out.

Gates aren't likely to stay that high for long though are they? Honeymoon period and all that. So, you think that is better than CCC still owning the Ricoh and continuing to get all the income and profit Lucas mentioned over a sustained period of time? I know we disagree but I really can't...

Why? Wouldn't the city have benefited from the "bright future" Lucas mentioned and the profitable business? All that cash is now flowing into a rugby team that has nothing to do with the City.

Don't agree. The Ricoh is hardly accessible, is it? That was well out of town and is a fantastic community asset apparently so don't be so quick to write it off.

See my reply to Kingofkings and statements from Lucas saying how profitable ACL was.

Don't think it was a problem. Lucas kept telling us they could survive without the club if they had to, ACL was profitable, CCFC only 9% of business, future looked bright, etc etc. For the sake of waiting another few years they have given the stadium to a franchise until 2264. I can't believe...

He's done it for years. He's hardly been a "friend of the club", so not surprised by the article. We do need SISU gone and Maton and his cronies could have easily waited for that to happen and then done a deal with the football club.

Why? It works in other cities. It would be two grounds hosting two different sports. City fans could go to the football stadium and the Trust and Italia could still attend the Ricoh. Win-win.

    Question for SCG

Ah, get the Wasps Fanboys to ask the SISU Fanboys a question?

Trust you to mention the Wasps game. Funny everyone else was talking about CCFC, then along comes the yellow and black dick.

Bollocks. It was the NIMBYS in Bubbenhall and Stoneleigh who fucked up Cov airport.

    Chelsea? That was flat.

Agree with you there. There have been a few good atmospheres. To be fair the Chelsea game wasn't one of them, neither the JPT semi as we were rubbish. The Gillingham game was fantastic, a really fantastic atmosphere. Shame.

Yes, he is correct. They could not turn down a planning application because they didn't like CCFC or SISU. Not sure why you're so keen for me to agree with him. That's not an issue. However, they could EASILY have turned down the approach from Wasps and waited for SISU to leave, couldn't they?

We would have to ask Wasps first, wouldn't we? It's not our stadium so we can't just do what we want. That is the problem.

At least we would (or SISU would) have something to sell to someone. What is there now that a potential new owner would be interested in?

You could also be talking about staying at the Ricoh.

New stadium - Okay, let's just suppose for a moment

Primarily, yes I do, which is why I'm not a member of the Reading football forum.
