As I've later qualified it is more to do with positions of power rather than political leaning BUT it has spread from a right-thinking mentality which has largely been based on privilege and class. "I'm higher class than you so I therefore must be right. And if I'm right I have nothing to say...

    Ideal Scenario

Although it would make for more complex maths a 'fairer' way rather than PPG is to add in a multiplier based on the difference in league table position for the remaining fixtures to take into account different run ins and thus the likelihood of picking up points. So for example lets say you're...

    Ideal Scenario

Even more reason to carry on. What you're suggesting is call this season using criteria that will not give an accurate reflection of what may happen over the remaining games, then get next season affected in the same way as we go in and out of lockdown. Like when Marge has a go at Homer for...

So as I said above pay everyone the minimum level they would receive if they'd finished bottom now, then add any extra for finishing above that when it's done and dusted. It's not hard.

Very good description of the place. Or just ad an 'a' to the void as a smart bit of travel advice

Maybe not these days, but it has spread because it has been effective for the right in the past. As long as they can get enough people to agree you weren't a fault, or at least question whether any mistake has been made, you're often not held to account and you wait for it to blow over and for...

But they don't care. When they have privilege the thoughts of anyone they consider 'beneath' them are unimportant and water off a ducks back. Besides which as long as they keep the power, influence and money they couldn't give a shit. That is what matters.

It's not solely the right that do it. Usually anyone in power will at some point have followed that method regardless of political leaning. But on the whole right wing tend to be hold more powerful positions. I reckon this failure to admit mistakes is a large part of it.

A bit generalistic but on the whole yes Germans probably would want a better explanation than over here. Could be a hangover from having the Nazi's voted in - get the details rather than soundbites and getting caught up in the personality and propaganda. But that's not to say Germany doesn't...

Yep. Why I wish I'd always be around so I can see what history makes of it. To be around in a century or two and see the documentaries on our times and what those people think of us (I reckon capable of great ingenuity but also exceptionally stupid as we knew about the stuff we were doing wrong...

I think the main thing behind that is privilege. People like him are used to being able to flout the rules normal people can't because they think they don't apply to them, just the working classes, so he doesn't see it as an error. We've seen a fair few people giving out advice and then flouting...

He's not an idiot but hat doesn't make him 'smart' either. He knows how to play people, he's good at PR. Actual detail and expertise - not so much. Unfortunately usually those that are good at that are shit at delivering it so no-one listens. Take that Merkel video. It's clear and makes the...

One of the main tenets of right sided thinking is to never, ever admit fault or mistake. Never say sorry. It can be used as a stick to beat you with and seen as a sign of weakness. If you don't admit mistakes or spin it even if it seems pretty obvious you've fucked up you make people find clear...

Which is what the government seemingly were doing when they gave contracts to JCB and Dyson for ventilators. Others that have used the procurement system are receiving more than we are.

OR... they could pay everyone the equivalent of finishing bottom now, as that's the minimum they'd receive anyway then when the season is actually finished distribute the rest with respect to the final standings. Not sure if EFL has reward money for finishing place (PL does) or just a blanket...

    NUFC takeover

If they've not won the league in two years time they'll be baying for blood and asking why the team hasn't been invested in even if they've spent hundreds of millions. Mind you most clubs aren't that much different in some respects - it's just the level of expectation. Theirs is way above what...
