Does anyone know if 8 wins from 9 is a record? I know winning 6 on the bounce is a record, but I can't remember us ever returning 24 points from 27... That's prime Man City esque dominance, that

    Jack Rudoni

My mistake, it didn't hit the post. It was against Swansea at home and was deflected in off a defender, it was going wide.

    Jack Rudoni

Didn't he have a shot from outside the box that hit the post, then the keeper and in, went down as an own goal? He did all of the work for that goal. Would have been his first goal for the club if it wasn't credited to the keeper

    Viktor Moving on

For sure, I'm not doubting his ability or potential longevity one bit. Just in terms of his transfer value, his next is almost certainly going to be his largest due to his age. Unless he smashes it so hard at PSG/wherever next season that Madrid, Man City or someone come in with a massive bid...

    Viktor Moving on

Unlikely, he's 27 in the summer. He's pretty much at the peak of his value age wise, unless he has one storming season and someone pays silly money at 28.

    Overrated players

I only properly remember his last season here when he was class along with Keane, Hadji, Chippo and Palmer. He's clearly a quality player when he has quality around him, but I've heard a few people say he was a waste of money before that season (3 million on a 32 year old, when we didn't have 3...

Im posting Something positive about frank lampard

I'm not trying to discredit Lampard's record, because it is good so far and long may it continue. But last season we did maintain 4 months of 2 points per game, which is an even better ppg record, until the cup run did us over. Frank won't need to average 2 ppg, but hopefully he can keep the...

Match Thread Sheffield Wednesday - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 15th Feb

Agree, we need to focus on our own results, looking at the fixtures and state of the table can be an indication, but sometimes it's impossible to predict a team like Sheff W or Bristol winning 4 games in a row out of nowhere. It's only really when you get to the 'run in' when you can start...

Match Thread Sheffield Wednesday - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 15th Feb

In fairness, in many other seasons, those results would have ended our chances, but as it panned out that season all the other teams kept dropping points too, so we were able to sneak in with a relatively low points total due to our run at the end. If other teams hadn't been in such indifferent...

I think that depends on the fitness of Bidwell to start on the left; can't see us playing Da Silva in a back 4 away from home.

    Time to believe

Exactly, I'm not trying to be as negative or anti Lampard as I sound either, just trying to be objective. I do actually think we'll make the playoffs - how is that negative or anti Lampard?! Just not getting carried away that we're now suddenly a brilliant team under him. Yes, we're getting...

    Time to believe

I agree. We've gone from having incompetent keepers, to an exceptional one. He's been the difference in keeping our season alive since coming back into the side. If he maintains it until the end of the season I'd be seriously worried about losing him in the summer.

    Time to believe

It's not just 1 or 2 saves in 1 or 2 games though, he's been absolutely brilliant in 3 of our 5 wins - which is great, and above the norm of a competent Championship keeper 'that makes saves'. Our defence (outfield) has seen incremental improvements, and our keeping position has seen a drastic...

Player of the season so far

He may not have played every game, but Dovin so far. He's been the difference in winning or losing 3 of the last 5 wins (plus not losing 0-6 against Leeds!) and the season still being alive. If he maintains it until the end of the season I'd be seriously worried about losing him in the summer!

    Time to believe

Watford definitely, best performance under Lampard. Blackburn we rode our luck a bit in the first half and could have been 1 or 2 down had it not been for some heroics from Dovin. Then we grew into it and stunned them with a goal before and after half time, we then dominated after that, great...

    Time to believe

I agree. We are grinding out results, but it's been a tough watch at times, and we've rode our luck in terms of Dovin bailing us out with some brilliance at 0-0 in 3 of the past 5 league wins, that could have comfortably only been 2 wins without much change to the actual...

    QPR Player Ratings

I think he's going to do for us what Liam Kelly did in League 1 when we won the league. But obviously to a higher Championship standard. Although I'd take 2nd place next season 😉

I think we'll make the playoffs, but get pumped as one of the worst teams in it of all time. We're grinding out results against all the mediocre teams, and then looking lost/scared/hopeless against the decent teams, which were Robins' biggest strength. We need to have Lampard in charge against...

Direct train from Birmingham New Street to Sheffield, seems quickest and best route I can see.

    The Oliver Dovin appreciation thread

Agree, those saves at 0-0 Vs Bristol and Blackburn were immense. We probably don't go on to win either and those without those saves. And then you can argue we don't gain the confidence to go on to win the next 2, which are probably our only decent performances so far. He's making all the...
