If Chaplin does well here, I’d be very surprised to see Ponticelli return. Especially if he’s getting regular game time on loan. Why would he want to return, just to spend more time on the bench.

If he turns out to be as good as we hope, he’d have to be sold after 1 year or risk him walking away for nothing after 2 years. MR obviously has faith in the lad, and his contract shows that.

Bakayoko is on a hiding to nothing, his style of play is not what MR wants from his number 9. (At least from what I can make out) Which makes me ask why he was signed in the first place. You can't try and fit a square peg in a round hole, and when it dosnt fit, blame the square peg.

Why would we buy a player who dosnt fit in to OUR style of play? Should we change the whole ethos to accommodate a player with a less than impressive record, who was only realistically ever going to be a bench warmer.
