    Wasps downward spiral...

When is their next interest payment and update on the state of accounts due? Thats the next hurdle to get over. Also have to assume lack of events will mean the valuation of the Ricoh will nosedive given that increased business was the explaination for the way the value surged after Wasps...

"The conditions will be set out in guidance which will be published shortly, then over the next few weeks the further details will be worked through with businesses and unions." Why does this sound like they're making it up as they go along. This is something that has been flagged up for months...

The talk going into the announcement, which given how this government operates presumably was 'leaked' to the media, was that Sunak would introduce a similar scheme to Germany. From what I can make out, and I could have this completely wrong as its going off a quick google, the German scheme...

Quick google says the average length of employment in the UK is 4.5 years. Given you don't get redundancy pay until you've been employed for 2 years you've got to imagine most companies could make a significant number of redundancies without paying out.

    Wasps downward spiral...

Seems they're talking about clubs in general losing £500K a month due to covid so you'd have to add that to their existing losses and then also factor in that the conference and exhibition business will have completely collapsed. You also have to wonder if fans will return as quickly as they...

    Positive Covid19 news

Wasps are surely the example the government can point to if clubs go to them asking for money and claiming to be an important part of the community and therefore worth saving. Can't claim clubs are important local assets when happily letting them move around the country.

Reads that way to me. An important point here is that a lot of those who are employed in salaried roles, as opposed to paid by the hour, had to sign amended contracts to allow them to be furloughed. A lot of those amended contracts also allowed employers to reduce hours, and therefore pay, if...

    Wasps downward spiral...

If you take that at face value and assume crowds aren't returning anytime soon that would put Wasps on course for losses of something approaching £15-20m before you even consider the additional impact of the exhibition side of things. And its now less than 20 months until they have to repay or...

We don't hear a lot about research into treatment as opposed to vaccine but I would hope that is also taking place and being sufficiently funded. If, as seems increasingly likely, a vaccine that while not preventing you getting covid can lessen the impact can be combined with improvements in...

As with so many things what the current situation has exposed is that our 'safety net' isn't fit for purpose. Its certainly not the easy life on benefits some sections of the media like to portray. Simply put even if you received the maximum level of universal credit and housing benefit (only...

Doing Transfers Differently - Sky Sports article with Chris Badlan

I think overall our recruitment team does a great job. Its easy to pick out the signings that haven't worked but there isn't a club in the country that can say every signing they make is a success even when they're spending huge amounts bringing in 'names' with a proven track record.

Not really seeing the advantages of the proposed set up over bringing the railways back into public ownership. Just seems a way to guarantee private companies don't make losses.

They can't get testing or tracing organised and the stats they release have had their methodology changed numerous times to 'correct' them yet we're supposed to believe they have evidence people are catching it after 10pm in pubs. Struggling to believe that tbh. What do they think is happening...

Something needs to be put in place. According to the ONS in April 2019 (the most recent figure available) the average employee was earning £30,415. What is the impact on the economy going to be if we suddenly dump millions of people onto a maximum of £4,919 a year under universal credit when...
