I never get such comparisons. All 3 of those teams only really have one rival in their regional catchment areas...Portsmouth, Cardiff and Norwich. That fact alone accounts for many differences based on fan base, revenues and attractiveness to investors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wish people would stop making comparisons with Southampton (no offence to the O.P.). Historically, the clubs are similar in size and success but in recent years, they were bought by a billionaire who pumped loads of money on and have also sold some of their stars for close to £10m or more...

To be fair, I think in his first season, he was playing in their Europa League games (if I remember correctly). Your point stands though...£18k a week to turn up to training daily and play the odd game. You can see why youngsters playing for EPL times don't generally make it through the ranks.
