Match Thread Huddersfield (A) Saturday 1st May, 3 pm

If, as Oggy suggested pre-match, Robins might have been thinking about keeping Wilson as first choice next season hopefully yet another mistake will put an end to that.

20 minutes in and I'm very happy this isn't a relegation 6 pointer. Would be a very nervous afternoon.

    Gallagher retail park

I'm not convinced there isn't more to the Ikea story than has been publicly revealed. Place was always rammed and at weekends would cause tailbacks as people queued to get in!

    Gallagher retail park

Never understood the idea behind Central Six. Why would you build an out of town retail park right on the edge of the city centre? It just encourages people not to go into the city centre when its struggling for footfall.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Saw a truly bizarre post on Facebook today from Jay Singh-Sohal, the Conservative candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner. He had Priti Patel endorsing him as candidate on the basis he would stop rising levels of crime. So you've got the Home Secretary of the party under which this rise in...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

There was a report by the IFS released this week which again highlighted decreasing social mobility which seems directly at odds with the idea that working & middles class voters are voting Conservative due to being aspirational.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Wasn't for a second suggesting everyone is about to vote Green, or even that they should. But its very odd that people who seem to favour polices diametrically opposed to Conservative policies vote for them. Its nothing to do with how good or bad any other party is. The question that keeps...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I find it genuinely fascinating. Just after the last election was reading an article on research from the University of Manchester where they had for several years been tracking peoples voting intention but also their responses to various policy areas. The upshot was the way people vote doesn't...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Which I guess brings us back to the unresolved discussion from the other day about why people vote for a party that is not in their best interests. Think all we got was that workers were 'aspirational' but even that couldn't be qualified and it was only a few posts before huge chunks of the...

    BT Sport

We may be at that point. BT Sport have been racking up losses of tens of millions annually and boosted their subscriber numbers by offering knock down prices to BT customers. And of course the likes of Setanta and Eleven Sports failed miserably. Even Disney couldn't pull it off and backed ESPN...

    Wasps & Hummel Deal

Potentially not much. The Ricoh deal ran out years ago and has been extended pretty much for free as Wasps didn't want to cover the cost of having the Ricoh logo removed from the stadium. They have seemingly not come close to getting a new sponsor, even after employing a specialist company to...

Isn't the asking price for Man Utd something like £3bn? Thats a lot of buckets full of pound coins!

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

That's been my concern really. Look at Wembley this weekend, a condition of entry was masks being worn at all times which was totally ignored. If minimal restrictions remain in place to allow things to open and people ignore them we risk going backwards. We should be able to get some data from...

    Budget

At least its going up! As much as moving back to Cov will increase income there will be over a season of lost income to make up over the next few years. Hopefully between covid and the ESL mess it will encourage the authorities to get a better grip on the state of football finance so we're not...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I'm going to take a believe it when I see it stance I think. Events over the summer, well past the date that restrictions are supposedly being removed, are being cancelled on a daily basis - I've already had two today and one was a relatively small outdoor event that's not until September...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You'd think so but we seem to be in a time where things are coming out on a regular basis that would have sunk previous PMs / governments and nothing has happened. As has been said many times on here the change will be made when the likes of Murdoch deem it the right time and everything covid &...
