There's also an issue of funding. It's all well and good them citing the likes of Dr Who and Downtown Abbey as the type of programs they want. PSBs don't have the funding to fill the schedule with programs like that, they need the cheap crap to fill the rest of the Tim.

I can think of lots of examples of shows made by PSBs that are obviously British, nothing springs to mind that isn't. Seems like they're trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist and in a way that will be virtually impossible to define.

I think the issue is that its always been thought the numbers will rise in the winter. We currently have 8,413 hospitalisations compared to 843 this time last year. Same story with ICU, currently 1,056, last year 92. We need hospitalisations to be at a level where the NHS can manage them...
