    New Job Doubts

When they say go down there are they talking about leaving early in the morning / getting home late so you can do a full day in the office there or being paid to sit on a train? In my current job I'm out and about a lot and what was supposed to be local only soon seemed to change to the whole...

    Migrants crossing from Europe

How do you solve the problem of people traffickers if every country wants to make it as hard as possible for asylum seekers to enter the country? I'm sure clinging to a dinghy isn't the preferred mode of travel. Hard to tell what percentage of asylum seekers arrive that way as the Home Office...

    Migrants crossing from Europe

I think too many things are being mixed up here. Are people objecting to the method of arrival, the number coming over or the fact that we should not be taking any refugees other than those arriving directly from the country they are fleeing?

Didn't Jack Straw try that argument when he was Home Secretary and lose in court?

What are the official channels? Is there a 'proper' way for those in France to claim asylum in the UK. We know that 'stay in the first safe country' thing is a myth. What status do they actually have in France, or any other country, if they haven't claimed asylum there?

    New Job Doubts

They could take it either way but given there's a new boss in place if you massage their ego a bit doubt it would be too hard to leave them with the impression you've changed your mind because they're so fantastic!

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The man of the people stuff doesn't seem to actually relate to their background though. Look at Johnson, he's hardly had a tough upbringing and he's considered a man of the people. Not sure Sunak has the personality to pull it off though, as has been said it may be playing into Starmers hands...

Guess they could, whether they want to or not is a different story. Have they started opening them up earlier than 6:30pm now?

I'm starting to wonder if someone at the stadium wants there to be trouble. No trains to get Brum fans from the station in town to the ground. Not going to let them in the casino so you'll end up with them wandering around trying to find places locally. It doesn't seem like a great plan.

    New Job Doubts

I lived in London for a few years because I needed to for work and in theory its great as there's so much going on in London. In practice everything is so ridiculously expensive unless you're getting a huge increase then you won't see much benefit. Speaking personally the idea of commuting...

Casino is probably the best / only option. There's no a lot of places around the ground for home fans let alone away fans!

Rail and bus travel from city centre

If they postpone it when will they play it? Infrastructure isn't going to magically appear. If they were that concerned about trouble they could bubble them like they do with Southampton v Portsmouth but it really would be overkill. If they are certain there is going to be trouble then just...

Been to Walsgrave a few times recently and its a joke. The main entrance in particular is a nightmare. They've put a one way system in place that everyone ignores and loads of people just stood around having a chat or not going anywhere that you've got to get past.

There's a lot of people on here that turn up week in week out. There's a lot of people on here I wouldn't want anywhere near running our football club. ;)

Is there anything more to the 'new' plan than hoping the French stop them? And seemingly paying them to do so.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

There's no mention of that in the article so no idea. Found another article that said the UK had donated doses in August that were due to expire in September which would seem to indicate that donating the 600K in question back in May with an expiry of August wouldn't have been an issue but if...
