A lot of these "protests" are taking place in towns/city's with high unemployment. Blackburn, Burnley, Sunderland are all pretty deprived.
A lot of this I think stems from inequality (also ignorance).
There was a similar case in Canada or something. Same sort of thing, a nurse was banged up for a bunch of deaths on her ward, the statistics were the smoking gun which were later proved to be wrong.
I don't think it's just the racists that will be jumping on the back of the a DEI thing. The company I work for use American platform for learning (it's mostly videos, and most of the information is ahem, not great for anything practical).
