Yeah, I agree. So much emphasis on here about Muslims and migrants and nowhere near enough on the tragedy itself and how the poor families and the surrounding community have been affected and what they must be going through and of course, HOW it happened and why. That's not at all clear yet.

Yup. People know exactly what is meant when they say a remark is racist. Call it what you want, but everyone knows what is meant. Islamophobic, bigoted comment is probably better, but it's still racist.

There's a middle ground. I wouldn't stop speaking English. I would be just learning a second language.

I do think people who come here SHOULD learn English. Just the same as if I went to live in Russia, I would try my very best to learn Russian. I always even try to learn a bit of any language when I go to those places on holiday too.

Each to their own I guess, but we loved Norway when we were there last week and all said we would love to live there. Last thing on my mind in that circumstance would be to look for an English pub or English enclave. I get why people do it, but personally, I find it a little embarrassing.
