    Left back needed

Bidwell 1st choice. Dasilva in reserve. Latibeaudiere for emergencies. I think we’re just about OK but take the point that it’s not the richest seam.

    Kyle Mcfadzean

Certainly a hugely successful signing. I wouldn’t be writing him off just yet. He still looked our best defender earlier in the season. But in a back 4 he now appears to be 5th choice and that’s a lot of bodies to get past to get a game. He’d still be a nailed on starter in L1 for a couple of...

    Matty Godden

Isn’t that the precise reason we might want to sign him? Godden has been an excellent player for the club. But at Championship level his overall contribution has diminished. He’s lost some pace. It’s basically just the ageing process. We can’t keep people because of what they’ve done. It has to...

Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

We’re in a period of good momentum so it was important Robins played a strong side. That said it’s nice for us to have squad depth rather than 1 or 2 stand outs. Penalty went in so it was the right decision.

Yeah, sevens and eights all round for me. Latibeaudiere showed more versatility, good sort of game for Palmer to do some stuff and I also thought Eccles was good.

Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

As a group of fans we’ve sat through enough dreadful cup performances so more than happy with that. 6-2, into the draw, some good performances and some minutes for those who needed it. Excellent.

Crikey, tough gig. Maybe we can reserve the discussion of signings for when we make one.

The advantage of signing Phillipe Diningroome and Bryan Lownge is that if we get Chair from QPR he works well with both.

    Transfer targets

The worst value for money you can get is buying a current championship player. It’s far more likely to be someone like Seidl. Bring in, improve, huge sell on potential. The Gyok/Hamer model.

Why do they have to be in a relationship?

    Half Term Report

I don’t think we actually had that bad a start. We won a couple early and we were in the games we lost by and large.

And all four of them were OK

Granted. But where were they when he took over.

Are we about to lose the heartbeat of the club ?

Is that Torquay in the FA Cup? What a game!

Of course. Spot on. Can only hope we’d do it differently.

Are we about to lose the heartbeat of the club ?

Or before Allen was fit? Or before Bidwell came in? Or before Wright & Saka settled? Or before Kitching came in? Or before we changed formation?

That table is what happens when you have owners who know nothing about the game. Particular bits of nonsense recently include the appointment of Rooney and Forest’s sacking of Cooper. One of my pet hates is when someone achieves something way above expectation (getting Forest promoted) only to...

Are we about to lose the heartbeat of the club ?

OK. As things stand now I’d say I’d be more upset to lose Wright, Sakamoto, Sheaf, Eccles, Van Ewijk, Kitching, Thomas and possibly even Bidwell. I’m not disputing or suggesting O’Hare is a good player but for the team the others matter more right now.

Are we about to lose the heartbeat of the club ?

O’Hare is a good player but I don’t think he’s the heartbeat of the team. I’d say there are 7-8 players in the current squad I’d be more upset at losing. Great if he stays. On we go if he doesn’t.
