Other industries, airlines and hotels spring to mind, get around this issue by overbooking. Sure there would be no complaints at all if people were turning up to games and not being let in because too many tickets had been sold in a particular area.

I don't see any business case for that unless the entire ground is sold out week in week out. It's being implemented here as demand far outstrips supply. It's supposedly sold out yet we can all see loads of empty seats even on Saturday 3pm kick offs. What would be the benefit to blocking people...

The article says it averages a third of seats unused in the family zone and there will be a way to resell those. I had assumed, perhaps wrongly, they would be resold in line with the reduced pricing in the FZ, not the full ticket price in the rest of the ground
