    Summer transfer window 2024

Madsen - hope he does go to QPR. We need a holding midfielder. Worrall - never been that keen. We’ll get someone in, quite relieved it’s neither of these

Don’t agree with that. Thomas is what he is already. I think Kitching will progress. Equally though I don’t see Worrall as a big improvement on Thomas.

    Vik is nowhere near Keane!

Remember it well. Scored on his debut and it was obvious he’d go on to huge things. Tried to replace him with Bellamy which was pretty much the beginning of the decline in the prem years.

But the drop off after Milan is probably the biggest of any position. Hence the need.

    Summer transfer window 2024

No, didn’t mean all of it. If we have that money I’d rather spend some of it at RB.

    Summer transfer window 2024

To improve our CB stock we’re going to have to spend 5-6m. If we have that I’d rather spend it on RB. We have 4 CB’s all capable of starting. Do we really need 5?

    Haji Wright

Were people watching the same player? He literally tore Oxford to pieces.

    Eccles

Eccles is a fine midfielder. No problem with him at all. Getting left behind?! By who? Amazes me how perfection is expected in high paced games

    Please

A lot of the negative stuff is during the game and it’s reactive frustration. That’s just fans of most sports. I think it’s a given that anyone out there is trying and so should be backed but discussing performances is equally a huge aspect and valid part of being a fan

Why I'm Not Too Worried By Our Defence

In reality Oxford didn’t worry us. You could argue that should be the case. We’re finding ways to concede rather than being picked apart.

    WRIGHT/SIMMS/SAKAMOTO

Watching the first couple of games it’s clear how much we missed Saka at the end of last year. Also, you have to say congrats to the scouting/recruitment unit at the time we signed Wright, Simms, Sakamoto and Van Ewijk. All summer 23 additions.

    Milan van Ewijk Appreciation Thread

His pace gets him out of bother when his positional sense defensively is off. But he’s such an athlete he’s just everywhere. Throw into the mix his relationship with Saka and our right side is phenomenal.

    Haji Wright

Wright was fantastic against Oxford. After a slow start he was just as good last year. He is, along with Ewijk and Sheaf a player who would be the first name on every championship teamsheet

Match Thread Coventry City - Oxford Utd - Match Thread - Friday 16th Aug 8pm KO

If we’d have drawn 2-2 I’d still have been happy with that. Attacking wise we were brilliant to watch and that was a step up on the Yok and Hamer days. Oxford got 2 weird goals. We got two excellent and 1 well taken ones. I have a feeling that may be how this season goes. You score 3, we’ll score 4.

    Do we miss McFadzean?

On balance no. 9 times from 10 we win that 4/5 - 0. Them scoring two freaky goals from three or four attacks is not a major worry.

Hindsight brigade versus ridiculous in play knee jerk reaction brigade. It’s an emotive game but the in game criticism is other worldly.

I thought Lati was very good. In Wright, MvE, Saka and Rudoni we have some of the best players in the division
