Bit harsh. Lots of the best strikers have many goals due to scuffs, deflections and mis-hits. It’s about being there to have a go. Lots of Haalands goals look fairly ugly but they all count the same.

There were times in the first half when he was the only composed player on the pitch and he really stood out. He’s an excellent player. And the huge thing for us is that he always plays, that’s crucial for us this season.

A seminal game from him. His energy up front led to so many other positives. Whisper it quietly but he’s contributing the odd good finish as well.

There was a definite pragmatism in our play. We still managed to cock things up in our own half on a regular basis but when we needed to we just put laces through it. I don’t mind it one bit. The biggest myth in the game at the minute is this playing out from the back rubbish. Huge amounts of...

Eccles was excellent. But it was the blend that was so much better. All facilitated by BTA’s energy. Allowed Rudoni and Wright to get on the ball. Sheaf makes a huge difference and Van Ewijk continues to be a cut above.

Absolutely bizarre game. 3 main positives 1 negative. BTA’s energy made a massive difference, MVE/Rudoni/Wright are top notch champ quality, we played like we wanted it. Negative, some crazy moments in defence especially 1st half.

Filthy night. Couldn’t see what happened to Saka. All a bit keystone cops. Sheaf is a massive difference in the middle and Eccles the best player on the pitch. Wright and Rudoni have the quality. But what are we doing at the back!

What he did is a total irrelevance. He’s gone.

For those who were there at the start of it all

Stability is what has dragged us from L2 to where we are now and what’s been achieved. A lot in here can remember the revolving door days. It doesn’t work.

Crikey, L2. You mean where he’s bought us from.

We do want a lot from owners don’t we. Spaff millions up the wall. Take a risk you may never see a penny of it again. Develop things off the pitch. Excuse poor signings on it and cough up for replacements. But have an opinion on anything - no thanks. As a club, you take the money, you take a...

Who selected and appointed the coaching staff ?

We’ve spent £45m but we’ve had to replace Gyokeres, Hamer, O’Hare, Kelly, Godden plus others on the fringe. Quoting money spent in isolation is just ridiculous. It’s just part of the team turnover and the natural evolution of ins and outs.

    Problems and Solutions

Two myths to be put to bed. 1) James, the out of contract Messi, is no sort of answer. Mistakes were made in the window around midfield. I’d rather see Andrews given a run. 2) We didn’t replace Hamer. We did. We signed Torp. He’s just not good enough.

    Motivation- Down to the players

The Spurs game suited a non composed performance. We could look good hassling and harrying. It’s why Bassette and BTA looked decent in that game. We’re lacking the know how when it’s a game we can dominate and have time on the ball.
