Do you want to discuss boring politics?

You can definitely retrospectively vote. I forgot to sign my postal vote once and had a letter after the election asking me to sign the form as until I did so my vote could not be counted. At this point we were days after the election so I'm guessing at some point down the line every...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

There's a wealth of evidence that supports socio-economic factors having a big influence on crime. Not sure why anyone would choose to just ignore that and continue on with the same system we've had for years which clearly isn't working. Think with these discussions it's advisable to avoid...

    Callum O'Hare

won't go down well if he goes to Leicester. obviously its a reality of football that you go where the money is and you don't really care that much about the club you're at but that will be lost on a lot of fans who will see it as we stuck by him when he was injured, offered him a new contract...

wasn't there an issue with the Reform candidate and they stop campaigning as it was too late to replace them? A rerun with a new reform candidate and Labour campaigning hard and she could be in trouble

if you want to impact crime you need to tackle the causes of crime. if you want to stop people coming out of prisons reoffending you look to other countries who do that far more successfully than us and study what they are doing differently.

personally I feel that given the state of the country its fair to give them more than two days before people start declaring things aren't working. even Blair is sticking his oar in which hopefully isn't a sign of what we're going to have for the next 5 years

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We've had 14 years of Conservatives blaming Labour for everything. 48 hours into a Labour government and people are complaining they haven't sorted everything and saying they can't blame the previous government :ROFLMAO:

There was a documentary on BBC (I think) a few months ago about systems in other countries. What was incredibly obvious from that was that countries that had lower sentences and concentrated on rehabilitation rather than punishment had much lower re-offending rates Guess it depends what you...

    Things that annoy you

Facebook is basically unusable now. Wonder what their usage figures are like, must have been a huge drop off. You literally get one post from someone you follow and then about 5 'suggested' posts that are not anything you're even vaguely interested in

    Wimbledon

Exactly. Wonder how many of the people slamming her for this don't really follow tennis and therefore don't realise that pulling out of the doubles is a fairly routine occurrence for players still in the hunt for a singles title. Looks like the schedulers at Wimbledon haven't exactly helped the...

Green Day last week, some PUSB sang in the pubs

I must have got lucky, was in for the first band. Traffic was already building up then tbh, there seemed to be very little traffic management going on so there were queues of traffic waiting for lights to cycle through when everyone was going in the same direction. Got away pretty easy at the...

    UEFA EURO 2024

I'm getting pissed off at people saying Southgate is brilliant because we've won more games in the knockout stages under him. Tournaments have been expanded, we're playing more games against shit teams!

    Wimbledon

she'll be devastated to hear that as she looks at her US open winner medal and $4m in the bank from prize money alone :ROFLMAO: the always injured you're referencing is a recurring wrist injury, she had surgery on both wrists to resolve it a year ago and her team have been very careful with...

    Wimbledon

Pretty sure as a professional sportsman Andy Murray would appreciate focusing on the singles event, where she's not dropped a set He is clearly injured, just look at the match the other night, and they obviously knew this was on the cards else why give him that huge send off when he had more...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Couldn't you apply the same logic to other aspects of work? Some people are on their feet all day, some people are sat at a desk; some people commute to an office 5 minutes away, some people have to go from site to site hours away and so on and so on. There's all sorts of working conditions...
